Increasing blowoff and intake sounds

Why do any of us have a Baja Truck to drive back and fourth to work? (With the exception of some guys who may use the truck for its intended purpose)

We drive high-performance turbo trucks... why wouldn't you want to hear them? Any turbo vehicle i've had, i've done at least an intake, exhaust, bov, and tune. I've had a few STI's, a 7th gen civic si, and my wife's CX90 has a takeda intake on it. Not every part will add HP, but that's not always the defining factor in purchasing something.

I grew up in the fast and furious era and had Mitsubishi Evo, Nissan GTR, Porsche 911 turbo. All modded to get more power and equally important, to head the turbo noises.

If I had a shop close to me I would love to get the S&B plus these BOV’s. I had an S&B on my Cummins 2500 and it totally changed the experience. I’m not the biggest fan of the exhaust noise in these hurricane trucks but increasing turbo noise would be perfect for what I like.

For those that did the install, how many hours do you think a shop would take to install it? Is it easily reversible for warranty work? Would it be something that would be obvious if taking the truck in for a basic dealer oil change and routine maintenance / recall or it should be removed before going in?

Thanks

Intake is pretty straight forward, a little frustrating to get everything in all at once.

BOV's kind of stink to do I think it took us about an hour and a half total(I kept walking away to answer the phone and emails), Personally they end up being buried in the engine bay so I don't think its something that should be removed for routine maintenance. I left all my mods on for recalls.

Thoughts on getting the Bwoody pipe in lieu of a full intake? Would there be a more noticeable increase in sound with the full intake?

For the record I saw 0 negative impact with an intake tube and turbosmart bovs...just more turbo sounds. Which was the point 😆

Just worried about what the turbosmarts could do longer term to the engine. Have they been tested in other vehicles over time? Would love to get them just hesitant with how new and expensive the truck is lol

Turbosmart has been around for a while. The dual port still plumbs back and is not full atmospheric, which is fine to run. Running the full atmospheric plates is where you run into issues, as pretty much all turbo vehicles need some of that air pushed back through, not completely vented.

I accidentally discovered the best and cheapest way to increase turbo and engine sounds without affecting performance this week.

Popped the grommet off of my firewall to pass a wire through, and I forgot to put the grommet back in place before going on my first drive. Turbo noises galore! 😂

Absolutely zero affect on my truck performance, to boot!

S&B / Turbosmart!
@Nick797 do you think S&B will ever sell just the intake tube? The factory filter box is just fine. The sound enhancement surely comes from the tube since it removes the baffling.

It wouldn't line up or fit at all that way unfortunately.

Turbo Smart BOV and some sort of a intake!

S&B or AFE

Do we need to order two of the BOVs or do they come in a pair?

Just got my BOV’s today (ordered Friday!) Installed in a little under 2 hrs by myself. front BOV more difficult to secure due to tight space so have ratchet extensions in every size lol. Overall i think it’s dope. 797 w the superb product availability n shipping.

On a scale of 1 to huge pain in the ass how bad is this install . I’ve had my BOVs in my garage and I’ve been trying to convince myself to install mine

Getting my BOVs installed tomorrow along with Eibach front leveling springs at High Rolling Customs in Reno. Then the Bwoody tube should be arriving this week and hopefully my Awe exhaust will ship soon. Looking forward to having everything on!

it wasnt bad at all, just take your time. Just take note of how the flange will go on,, Side of the BOV theres an opening and the flange has an open side, make sure those two line up. to make things easier on the front unbolt the wire harness bracket, so you can move it while reinstalling the hardware. Recommend magnetic bits so u dont lose a bolt in the engine bay like i did. Turbosmart has a pictured walkthrough,
