Installed Underground Tuning blow off valve

yea that's not a real BOV it's an adapter that you slide on the OEM actuator

had one on GTI, sounds cool for like 2 weeks then I coudn't stand it.. and was also 20 years younger than today :D

also - you are releasing air, that was already measured by MAF, back to the atmosphere, so the engine runs rich every time you hear the sound and has to compensate

There is a purpose to blow off valves. Turbos have two wheels in them. The inducer and the compressor. Both of the wheels are very similar. The inducer is driven by exhaust pressure and is hooked to a shaft that passes through the housing to the compressor side and spins the compressor wheel. When you suddenly let off the throttle and there is no more pressure on the exhaust side yet you still have pressure on the intake side. It needs somewhere to go. Without the blowoff valve, it tries to go backwards through the compressor side and slows down the turban speed. This results in turbo lag as it tries to spin back up to speed when you get back on the throttle.

I would say main reason is as you said the compressor surge but to protect the turbos, as they still spin fast and as the throttle body closes it's a lot of pressure that puts great stress on the turbine wheel.. the lag is the second reason.. but you don't need BOV for any of that though as regular bypass valve we have in the trucks is enough

I am about to order my 2026 RHO tomorrow and def want to install a BOV but I’m concerned about voiding the 10yr/100k warranty. Does this not void warranty??
You will find it causes more issues and solves none. A few here installed them, lost power etc and removed them. You’re better off not buying one.
