Received mine today in the mail, it's installed now. This is the first Outerwear that I've bought that was open on both ends. In the past they would be like a bag with elastic at the bottom. Regardless, I'm sure it will work fine.

Yes! this is specifically how we designed it. After several revisions we decided this was the best design for the oem RHO air filter due to the "locating tabs" in the factory air box. Over time these tabs would wear through the Outerwear's material resulting in a tear or hole in the pre filter. Thanks for your order!
