I edited my previous post to include the question I asked them. Hope this helps give some context.Sigh... this frustrates me.
I'm not shooting daggers at you; I appreciate you passing on what you were told. Unfortunately I think Burger is either misleading intentionally or out of ignorance. Neither are good.
In their antilag feature setup they have you adjust the "default wastegate position" in their app. Last time I checked, the wastegate was attached to the turbo, not the pedal. How are they controlling the pedal?
Now, if they really are able to manipulate throttle mapping at the pedal somehow, great. I'm all for that. But what their answer fails to mention in "improving turbo response" is that you're modifying the wategate to behave in a manner which keeps the turbo spooling when it normally wouldn't.
There are two strategies a vendor can use when releasing a modification that could be seriously impactful to the continued health of an expensive part like a turbo, which we are blessed (or cursed) with two of.
1 - candid disclosure about how it works, what it does and what the risks may be.
2 - a non-answer answer devoid of any appreciable detail.
Which vendor would you rather purchase from?
This gives me all the reason I need to avoid a JB4 right now. That's coming from a former JB4 user on 2 previous vehicles. This smells deceitful to me and I don't like it at all.
I hope I'm wrong and someone gains more clarity on the matter.
I’m personally still waiting on direct connection to release the unicorn tuner. However I would be curious to hear from someone who gets JB4s new tuner as to whether it is more responsive.
