Just Got a Recall Notice Text Message..

went to get an unrelated thing changed on the truck at the dealership today. Threw a blinking check engine light on the way there. Stopped after 2 seconds. Just got the Purge valve recall, and have a few RRTs to get done.

My attitude on recalls is typically if it's not safety related and isn't causing any problems I'll get to it when I get to it

Turns out it was a misfire on all 6 cylinders. One of the RRTs was a pcm flash

It’s an update that gets pushed down for the truck. Flashes that ram says ur car needs whenever they can’t do it over the air.

I just confirmed through the app, recall site, and with my dealer that I need this update as well. Dealer is ordering parts.

Recall for a part that cant be replaced since it’s on back order… what a Ram thing to do…

Honestly a lot of manufacturers are like this. I have a VW ID4 - 4 months waiting for a recall. BMW M340- bad starter motor recall, month out for the part.

Wasn’t able to address my recall today. No worries though as I was advised it’s a one time fix, if not having issues yet it may be better to wait. Also, there were flashes to the PCM, CADM, and BCM. I’ll try and update later with what those may have addressed.

Yup, the recall came out about a week ago as this is a common issue. I got notified while at the dealership for a different warranty repair.

It might not show in the APP, mine doesn't either. Stellantis is not doing very good about getting the message out there it seems. I only new about because I was at the dealer. Not sure why you would want to wait until the veh is brought in to mention it since the parts have to ordered.

It really doesn't....

I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app. (I was looking for the Digital Key feature.)

The interface was different post-reinstall, figured this meant there was an update...

The recall showed up a day or two later...

Interesting about the updates. Someone posted a link to a TSB, but I wasn’t aware all 3 of these now have an update. Was that just indicated with your VIN or did you specifically ask for updates?
