60+ Days In… Buyback Denied, Now Headed Toward Arbitration
Just wanted to give everyone an update on my RHO.
This past week I told my Stellantis case manager that I wanted to elevate my case for a buyback. I absolutely love this truck, but after more than 60 days in the shop with no diagnosis and no repair, I’ve reached my limit. As much as I wanted to keep it, enough is enough.
On Thursday, my case manager called and left me a voicemail saying my buyback request had been denied and that they could put me in contact with an arbitrator. I called back the same day requesting information on the arbitration process and also asked for an email explaining exactly why the buyback was denied. As of today, I still haven’t heard back.
With everything up in the air, I decided to stop by the dealership on Saturday to clean out all of my personal belongings. The service advisor told me they were putting the truck back together because they were going to start the diagnostic process all over again with another STAR representative coming out.
When I got there, this is what I found.
The truck wasn’t back together at all. It was still completely torn apart, just sitting there looking defeated. It was honestly hard to see considering how much I enjoyed driving it before all of this started.
At this point, they’re essentially starting from scratch with yet another STAR rep after more than two months. I sincerely hope nobody else has to go through a process like this. I’ll continue to update everyone as things progress, especially with the arbitration process and whatever Stellantis decides to do next.
Hopefully my experience helps someone else who ends up in the same situation.
