I can say I'll probably never see that light as I fill at 1/2 tank and certainly before 1/4 if I'm traveling.
Let’s be honest—this truck begs to be bad. So yeah, I’ve officially given up on trying to be good.More you step in the worse it gets! Tried my best to be good but cruising, look down and approaching 90. Truck makes it way too easy.
Should give some context. Only had this thing for a week. I filled up Wednesday evening second tank ever with 91. No 93 near me. Rest the clock. Station is 5 min from my house. Loaded up yesterday morning.
We took off at 9:30am. Waze told me we will arrive at 2:26. Ended up spending right at 6 hours on the road. Never shut off the engine with two stops. Waze diverted us off the interstate for a solid hour.
Pleased with 16.6. I average 12 daily commute and if you live in Baton Rouge you know why. Way more efficient than my last truck but I did not buy for efficiency.
Like the way you phrased this. Completely agree. Truck sure livens the commute. Personally not shooting for economy but was hoping for better than previous rigs on 4-6 hour drives. I traded in a regular cab hemi that did better but was not even close comfort wise. This thing nails it.Let’s be honest—this truck begs to be bad. So yeah, I’ve officially given up on trying to be good.
I tried the whole “New truck, new habits” mantra. I was sincere about it. Thought maybe, just maybe, I’d tame the beast. I figured with how this thing guzzles gas, I’d be sensible. No wide-open throttle. But then reality kicked in—I live in the Dallas suburbs. My daily commute is 45 miles one-way, all on freeways and turnpikes. And driving this truck as a daily driver? It’s built for fun, not discipline.
So I stopped fighting it. Turns out it’s a lot easier to embrace the bad than pretend to be good.

I drive relatively light and mix up highway pretty often. But I cant crack 14 mpg. Maybe when I get more miles. I havent done the 65 mph long trip though.Could not be happier with 17 plus.
