I picked up a M&R Pro Light Bar a couple of weeks ago and just got around to install this past weekend. For those of you that have installed one, I have a quick question.
The install instructions said to adjust the brackets so the light was tilted fully downwards. I did this initially, but had difficulty with alignment when I tried to marry the brackets up to the grill. I ended up removing the downward tilt to the brackets and instead mounted it pretty much straight forward. That seemed to help with installation, but made me curious if my light bar points up higher than others after doing so.
Also, I noticed my bar can either sit on top of the bumper, or fall behind it. I think the intent is to sit on top of the bumper, but it would certainly be easier to adjust the tilt downward if it were behind the bumper. Curious how you all installed. I put pictures of the two options below.
I noticed also that my brackets appeared a bit different design than those in the video. Maybe that’s contributing to my issues?
Also, note that you can adjust the Allen head screws even after install if using a stubby Allen wrench. The video says this can’t be done, but it can. I find that the bar is wedged in pretty tight, though, so I can’t really adjust the tilt if it’s sitting atop the bumper.
Also, I installed without removing the grill. Definitely put a towel or something in between your arm and the plastic, or it’s pretty rough on your skin. Otherwise, this made for a really simple install. I’m very pleased with the brightness of this light bar!
