Media Release

I think Stellantis should develop a smaller high performance small-block V8 (perhaps 4.0L or something like that) for the American market only (since they can't go about 3.0L in the European market). It would then be able to meet fuel economy and emissions requirements for a long time to come, but could still put out really high HP numbers and would have the sound the American market demands. They could sell this on the highest performance trims of the Dodge, Ram, and Jeep products and demand a price premium for it. I hope the I-6 isn't the only option they are planning to have for the next decade, even though it is an impressive engine. It's more like what the 6.4L hemi use to be, the 2nd tier high performance engine. They still need that flagship engine.

Not a bad thought. Just wonder about the development costs of such a bespoke engine.

I love turbo motors & also see the flexibility of tuning an engine up or down to meet various power outputs/performance targets (Standard Output vs High Output) for a variety of vehicles.

Kinda like BMW and the B58 & S58 engines. Just my $0.02

I think that's the big question - will Stellantis green-light an expensive engine project that would only benefit the US market. They should, of course, because the US market is huge and there's a big market for performance-focused vehicles that would never sell overseas, but I doubt they are thinking long-term right now. I'm sure the current focus is fixing inventory and declining sales first.

I agree too - the 3.0L engine is great for how they can make simple adjustments to the internals (liners, forced parts, etc) for the high performance option using the same base engine and engine mounts, etc etc.

That 4.0 L engine idea would probably be a good compromise engine. I personally would still take the hurricane 3.0, but they need to just let it be a quiet engine. Stop trying to make the exhaust sound like it shouldn’t.

I just saw a bunch off blog reviews post about 20 minutes ago. Looks like more videos are coming tomorrow.

Looks like the embargo has been lifted.

Bring on the reviews! Here is the first one :

Haha just watched this and was going to post it if noone had.

This is another one. The title says power wagon but the second half of the video is a “Mopar accessorized” RHO for SEMA. 37 inch tires with seemingly no modification needed…? Among other things. RAMBAR. Apparently some of the accessories on this truck will be available for our trucks in the future according to Andre.

RHO looks sick!! I wonder if 37s can fit without any mods!

Don't love the Mopar graphics. Wish they showed more than 37s and a Ram Bar
