Mopar direct connection tuner from SEMA?

The Roar Pedal is a safety product. It's dangerous to try to merge onto the highway with the pedal response of a 1987 Toyota Camry. Would your family really want you in danger? I doubt it.
You sure pulled my leg hard on this one. Ordering it right now just for that exact sake because here in Miami, we need that for sure.

So I know this is completely hypothetical. If direct connection releases a version of the cat six Diablo tune. Will it need the interrupt harness? If it’s supposed to hook up to the OBD II port and it’s authorized by RAM. shouldn’t it just modify the parameters. Then your gauges would show true values for things like boost. If it’s a tune, then it wouldn’t even need to stay plugged in unless it acts as an authorization key for the modified program.

Correct, most likely you would just plug in the programmer to the OBD and load the tune then unplug it.

Roar Pedal is amazing. Night and day difference. Can't imagine driving without it. I've been running mine for about a month, and the other day I set it to stock just to see what it was like and I couldn't stand it lol. Right back to Race 5.

FYI They're currently running a $40 off sale to anyone who's interested.

Also, apparently the tuner is just going to be a rebranded DiabloSport Cat6. Which is awesome, since we already know the consensus on those is generally great. I've been trying to find a sources too, but nothing official yet. C-tech reviews said he knows about something in the works but isn't allowed to share yet. The poster of the other thread says that both the Direct Connection and Holley engineers essentially confirmed it.

Fingers crossed.
Roar Pedal is legit!

Did the same, went back to stock to check it out and felt sloooowwww. Back to Race!

This just leaves me one question if indeed it does work that way. Why does ram and direct connection need Holley and Diablo?

Not sure about this myself, but apparently they already have a relationship because Direct Connection has used them in the past for their hellcat stage kits.

They probably want to stick with a single company to collaborate with on their tuning products.

Cat 6 is already a proven system, so they may just re-release it. I hope so, at least.

I guess we'll find out (maybe)

I think what he's saying is the factory has the ability to program the ecu without any 3rd party hardware/software, why not just release a different factory tune that you can go to the dealer and they update through the obd2??

I imagine ram doesn't want to spend the time testing and tuning and are willing to gamble on a safe tune from a 3rd party. Also, if they send something from the factory, why not just release all RHO's that way

Yeah that's pretty much my assumption. I think they would rather just source out the work to someone who already has a proven tune, slap their name on it, and collect some money. I'm sure Ram's engineers are still involved, and have been going over Holley's software to make sure they deem it "safe", since they're putting their warranty on the line.

As far as the interrupt harness- they may choose to remove this. That's a good point.

According to a YouTube comment, @Ctech-Review is in the works of releasing a video with (potentially) some more information on this, since he was at SEMA.

It still seems a little weird to me. Ram is farming it out to Diablo sport. Unless they are giving Diablo the keys to the kingdom as far as their top secret uncrackable software then they’re still gonna have to go piggyback, interrupt and distort the values. Seems like ram would keep that in House if it was an actual tune for the motor. I know the legal department could just plain lock Diablo down and prevent them from using that information in any way shape or form that was not authorized by ram. It just seems a little overcomplicated versus doing it in house if it truly is a tune.

Look at the other ones that direct connection uses the looks farmed out.

Does the Roar Pedal work in all driving modes? I drive in Baja all the time.

If it’s like the pedal commander that comes free with the DiabloSport, then yes, except in reverse.

Does the roar pedal just make the pedal sensitive and the truck herky-jerky?
Nope, it's fully adjustable. You can even make it less sensitive than stock (except anyone who does that needs to be institutionalized). It has like 30 different settings on there. Most guys seem to run it in sport mode somewhere around the middle of the range.

Professional drivers, such as myself, leave it in race mode.

You can adjust so it's not twitchy.
Truck set to Sport trans...pedal set to Sport 6.
Truck set to Auto trans...pedal set to Sport+ or Race.
