It’s actually a direct comparison. They use att cellular for their data services.
If you buy an iPhone, and don’t activate the cell services, you can use it as a vessel for stand alone apps or music services that you already have songs downloaded for, but the cell provider for the version of iPhone you bought is still tracking what you do when the phone is powered on.

This is probably the best comparison I've seen. It makes sense. You don't have to like it.

Regardless of the quality of the comparison, plenty of other manufacturers offer it free. It's free forever on my wife's Hyundai, for one example. I'm not aware of any free cell phone plans.

But yes, comparing a cell phone service plan to the ability to remote start a vehicle is retarded. I stand by my comment.

So, Apple and galaxy could eat the cost of cell service also, after you buy the phone? There’s a difference between features that are built into the truck, and features that require basically “cell phone services” (telematics box) to function.

What I am saying is I never had an app for my 2020 Tundra never has an app for my Lexus Lc or my 07 and 16 Corvettes yet all had the local traffic congestion on the OEM nav
