New windshield

Any windshield guys in here? I had mine replaced and now, when the sun is directly above, there is a yellow reflection across the bottom. Theres nothing on the windshield to wipe off or any film. Almost as if there is something yellow under the dash that’s reflecting in the glass.

Anyone have theirs replaced and experience anything similar?

Is it an OEM windshield? I do see what you’re talking about and it would probably get on my nerves. I just had mine replaced and requested OEM because of the heads up display and only having 11k miles on the truck. My wife and I both have the worst luck with cracked windshields it’s becoming comical.

It is OEM. I thought it wouldn’t bother me, but watching it come and go depending on what direction I’m facing it driving me nuts. Lol

I pay a $100 deductible for replacement on my insurance, but they charged my insurance like $2300 which I thought was insane.

They definitely scam the insurance company. I think they charged my ins company 4 hrs of labor to calibrate my Tesla windshield and it took 5 minutes.

I see Alpine so I suppose L0 without the HUD? Been in widshield replacement business but it's 15 years ago. Don't recall seeing anyhting like this

But since you mentioned the reflection - check carefully if it's the case. They could have cut the dash when cutting out the windshield which would expose they yellow foam the dash is made of

Slightly off topic. Be careful when you have insurance pay for the windshield replacement. When SWMBO's subie got a cracked windshield I had GEICO replace it, 0 deductible here in Florida. When I got quotes to switch insurance companies about a year later I got a great price from Progressive. When I clicked BUY the rate went up $40/month because of that claim which I didn't mention. I would have been far better off paying for the windshield out of pocket.

That is a great point...and if they did, new dash on them. I cant imagine they did, but I have seen yellow sealant.

The info I was looking for. The gap between the windshield and dash seems a bit larger and my sun shade does seem to slide further down, so that lines up. Maybe I’ll swing by the dealer and “finger” their dash to see if it feels the same

Not yet. The “owner” came out today and agreed something was missing, either from the dash or something was supposed to be attached to the new glass, that wasn’t.

I’m wondering if they ordered the wrong glass to begin with. Either way, they ordered a 2nd windshield and we’ll see what happens.
