RAM DIGITAL KEY

Looks like RAM digital key is only available for iPhone users. On the website there is no mention of android users when it comes to digital key. I am an android user, and might have to switch to iPhone lol. I can't say that I don't care for this feature, but it's not the baggiest deal.

I currently have a GMC AT4 and it's the same thing. All brands require you to pay subscriptions now

Except for Tesla. I know folks on this forum feel a certain way about EVs… but man… that company figured out software like no one else in the automotive industry! Their phone app experience is unreal… phone as key is just the tip of the iceberg… and no subscription!

No.. and yes! Lol… Autopilot is free on every Tesla and it is pretty much equivalent to the driver assist you have to pay for with other brands… it’ll keep you in your lane (better than most humans can)! It’ll speed up and slow down with the flow of traffic. It’ll slam on the breaks for you and avoid an accident if the person in front of you slams on their breaks. It’s pretty great, honestly. Or, you can pay $99 a month for full self driving which is true autonomous driving: you put in the address where you are going to in the GPS and it gets you there with ZERO input from you — any city, any road, through construction zones, etc! It’s the future for sure, and so far ahead of the competitors it isn’t even funny. But it isn’t perfect and you have to monitor it. It gets confused (almost never now on my commutes but there are a couple of intersections it doesn’t like). And when it gets confused, you could die lol.

It's free when you "activate connected services", for which there is a fee. It's wordplay.

Funny, I’ve had this functionality for several weeks. Used it twice just to play. Otherwise, I’ve used my fob…pretty much effortless, since you just have to have it on your person to lock, unlock & start the vehicle.

Wife & I tried the massage seats. That lasted less than 5 mins. Gimmicky, though executed better than I expected. Same with the passenger screen. Though some might like to watch movies on it during a long trip, my wife has zero interest. She’d rather watch the passing scenery.

Nobody has the phone digital key yet as it hasn't been released yet. I'm sure he was talking about using the Key Card that comes with the truck.

Ah. Got it. Thanks!! The card is really useless. Actually more difficult than using the key fob, because you have to take in out of your pocket and set it in the charger.

Now using phone as key interests me. Same as using the key fob, except you don’t even need the fob!! My wife’s BMW has this feature and it’s really cool.

I like the idea of being able to use just the phone to start vehicle (not needing key), but concerned this new option will leave open another path for thieves to gain access. I suspect it will. Can't believe a $800 iphone can be locked down so even the government has difficulty getting in but we can't lock down a 80k vehicle.

Then again we can track toilet paper from Amazon down to the street the driver is on, but can't figure out what status our truck order is in without any sort of accuracy. Stellantis activities.
