2025 Ram RHO
Hi all. Been driving the new 2025 RHO for about a month now. Put just over 3k miles on it with no issues. Love everything about it. It has been super cold here in CO and finally today the CEL popped up. Threw codes P2190 "system too rich to idle" and showing no reading from O2 sensors. Has anyone experienced this problem with a HO yet?

Sounds like a couple of others have posted similar issues, resulting in the cats melting.....

This sounds like it might be a new issue.

Here we go, again!

Some have had CEL warnings that have gone away with driving. Hope that is the case with yours & it doesn’t re-appear.

Too rich to idle is a pull over, turn off engine and tow to Dealer ASAP kind of warning IMO. Last thing you want is heavily contaminated oil cycling (best case scenario).

Great point!

I have not gotten a CEL, but my oil change at 1200 miles…well, let’s just say it smelled of gasoline.

Mine did as well. Changed a little before 1800 because I got complacent.

Until this morning I had 2000 trouble free miles, then got a CEL in the way to work. I took a trip to the dealership and they couldn't read the codes and said as long as the CEL isn't flashing I can keep rolling and they made me an appt for Tuesday for a proper diagnosis. I swung by Auto Zone and they scanned it and got codes P1CEA and U0418.

Searching google and this forum to decide if I should just get home and park it or actually keep driving. I'm leaving for a 300ish mile round trip tomorrow for my kids volleyball tournament planned so that's making me a little nervous about breaking down 100 miles from home.

The CEL is actively on? Or it came on and went out? That's weird your dealer couldn't read it. I was getting random dash faults for braking and cruise control etc, but once the CEL came on, it was only a few miles before it went into limp mode. I had to disconnect the batteries and reconnect to get it to the dealer. Even after that, the CEL stayed lit.

Its still on. Hoping it goes off after sitting tonight. I think the dealer is using a wifi code reader and just couldn't connect to their internet is my guess.

Strange. You could disconnect your batteries for a 20-30 minutes and reconnect and see if it resets itself. If it does, I would run it lol. If not, i'd park it.

good idea, I think I'll do that tonight and see what happens.

@GregM keep us in the loop.

@jlight26 hows it going with yours?
My CEL went away Sunday AM, noticed it was off when I went to run some errands. I cancelled my appt at the dealership and will just take it in when I have more time and see if its still showing a code.

My gosh these trucks are from hell
