which was kind of a surprise, then I thought PDI was going to take some time to do but i guess not. I was asked if I wanted the plastic off and the truck washed. I said no to both. I want the pleasure of taking off or leaving on any plastic and I'm just going to clean it when I get back home to NC.

Yep I told me dealer exact same thing, I want to take off the plastic and last time I bought a new car and they washed it, they put spider webs on it because their goal is to wash it quickly for a quick shine but they just rub the dirt around.. only thing is my dealer is installing power running boards as soon as it comes in. Hopefully that doesn’t take too long

I guess that why their 111k rho been stuck there for over a month now. Also just checked their inventory and they have 5 rhos.. most likely be sitting on them for a while.

Picked up today, early xmas present, tracker date after it moved to shipped status was spot on. Very impressed, miss the V8 sound but it's growing on me.

They wanted to do +20k over MSRP for me at several dealers in California. I just found a dealer through Costco Auto at 800$ under sticker. Not as good as some states, but might be worth looking into it you don't want to travel.

After doing a full detail on my Hydro Blue L1 and putting 100 miles on it, my only negative impressions:

1) Defect-a minor paint run on the rt ft door…color coat so it can’t be wet-sanded out. My take on this? They put a good thick coat of paint on her…no thin or dry spots.

2) Thanks to an extended period in storage (production date is 10/24, so maybe as long as 45 days), there was extensive acid rain damage on the right fender. Maybe the factory paint protection film on this fender got torn off prematurely? Got it corrected with some aggressive hand polishing and two types of rouging polishes. Thankfully, no need to pull out the Porter Cable RO.

3) The exhaust sounds terrible…to me. I’m accustomed to V8s. I’ve also owned a couple 6 cylinder diesels. To my ears, running down the highway, RHO sounds like an old Chevy, 6 cylinder gas work van with a blown muffler. Sorry, but that’s my impression. I wish they just made it quiet, like a Tungsten.

4) Throttle tip-in is very aggressive. Manufacturers often do this to make a humble powertrain “feel” more peppy. I think the hurricane will have enough power for the RHO, so I don’t know why they tuned the throttle in this manner. But it could prove troublesome in certain low speed off-roading situations.

5) The HK stereo system sounds awful to my semi-audiophile tuned ears. It has a very pronounced “mid-bass hump” & zero real sub-bass...tuners use this to create a “warm sound” that appeals to the masses. But, if you have a critical ear, you’ll be disappointed. The speaker grilles are very pretty, IMHO…ha!

Otherwise, this truck is big, bold, comfy as heck & a treat to drive.

It drinks lots of fuel (I’m finding the EPA estimates are pretty spot-on), but it’s a heavy, non-aero pickup on knobby 35s, not a Corolla.

It can be a handful in tight spaces…I found using the mirrors is best 95% of the time…the surround view supplements the mirrors and can eliminate the need for a spotter in certain situations, but it’s best not to rely on it.

The infotainment menus are extensive & will take some time to master. Bluetooth connectivity & Android mirroring hasn’t been perfect…I’ve had to reconnect my phone a couple times. Hopefully, I’m doing something wrong & it’s not the OS that is buggy.

That’s all I have to share for now. Dealer will be installing power boards & bed mat shortly. Getting a LINE-X bed cover ASAP. Tint & partial PPF tomorrow. To the member who posted about the front mud guards from Weathertech, THANK YOU! I was going to look for something to protect the lower doors, other than expensive PPF & those should work!

I was planning on just adding an amplifier, I'm more in the classic rock lane what are your thoughts

I personally think it’s extremely disrespectful for a dealer to stick their badge right on the paint of any vehicle especially one that has been special ordered for someone.

I totally agree. You see this more in the Midwest I've noticed. But i have been this in San Diego from time to time.
If the dealership wants me to advertise for them on my vehicle then they can pay my monthly payment. If not then take that crap off!

I picked my RHO up the next morning after it was delivered. I got a great deal and I couldn't be happier with the truck. I'm actually very impressed with the fit and finish, as well as the build quality. I also noticed this nice touch on my window sticker; I haven't heard of others reporting this before. I thought it was pretty cool how they put my name right on the Moroney!
