Hellcat vs hurricane is $17,000. Then there’s the 8HP95, CAFE fines. Partial lvl 1 package

The msrp price difference between the P/N for a hurricane long block and a hellcat long block isn’t $17,000. It’s barely $5,000 difference. Unless you mean $17,000 difference between the two trucks as a whole?

I’m simply saying Ram put an arbitrary escalator on the TRX, just because people will pay it, and I don’t blame them for it. But there certainly isn’t an almost $25,000 increase in upgrades between the two platforms.

Guys, it’s only a $16k difference between an equivalent RHO and the SRT TRX. You have to take into account the packages that are already in the TRX

Plus, my RHO depreciated like 20k in about 30 seconds whereas 2022 TRX's are still selling for practically MSRP. I'll probably end up taking a big hit on the RHO but it is what it is.

The long block comparison is irrelevant. The hurricane fueling system turbos, and all do not go on a hellcat long block you need the entire engine assemblies.
I am talking about the price difference as a whole. Notice I mentioned cafe fines and partial level one. However, the price for a complete motor hurricane versus hellcat is also $17,000.

Exactly. I'm still going to buy the TRX - but that will legitimately be my last vehicle purchase until that the wheels fall off. I've bought a brand new vehicle every 2.5 years max since I was 18 years old, and I'll finally be done with that.

You're absolutely right, I think the 10k Level 1 package essentially gains you nothing in resale. In hindsight, should have got a base one.

I guess im confused on your logic. I can buy a complete hurricane crate engine from the parts counter at Dodge, for $13,745. I can buy a complete hellcat crate engine from Dodge for $17,900.

Update you are correct. Unfortunately, I was gullible enough to go by what somebody had previously said on some thread in this forum about the hellcat being $30,000. Just checked the direct connection website again you are correct it is 17,000+. But we still have 8HP95, cafe fines, and partial level one package to make up the other $13,000ish

Either way a RHO is less than a V6 Raptor. And a TRX is still less than a Raptor R. So that’s a win for RAM. Lol

Forgive the Captain Obvious remark, however, I have to believe RAM’s pricing strategy has less to do with its manufacturing cost and more to do with Ford’s exorbitant pricing. Because Ford seems to produce so few Raptor R’s they might not notice many buyers peeled away by the TRX’s “bargain” price. I still believe RHO is the best overall value of performance and price among all the super trucks. If anyone is overly concerned with resale value and depreciation - lease it.

Yup this. The actual cost difference to produce a hellcat vs a hurricane ho at the factory is minimal. Same with ecoboost ho vs SC coyote in Fords raptor line up, they charge a premium because people pay it and exclusivity. for boomers at the country club to measure pp size. Not because it costs drastically more to make .

That will change as they release the new TRX. They TRX will take a hard hit like everything else.
