Shaving Emblems

On my old ram.. I had the detail shop remove it for me for free, before applying ceramic coating

Excellent question as I'll be removing everything, on my '24 gmc there were no alignment holes

Tailgate Large RAM Emblem Hole Pattern on 2021 RAM 1500 TRX

Has anyone removed the large "RAM" emblems off the tailgate of a 2021 TRX for paint or wrapping. Working on new emblem to replace that with TRX hollowed out emblem like this for tailgate center. need to map these holes out to make sure of coverage. But need to know where the actual holes...

This is not a GMC. There are ~18 alignment holes if the same as the TRX.

Pretty sure I know it's not a GMC, but thanks for clarifying.

You can remove “RHO” and “4x4” easily as there are no alignment holes. For the large RAM letters, there are many alignment holes and if you want to remove this emblem you need to find a good body shop to fill in those holes.

I'll be giving mine a Brazilian because she deserves it. RAM on the back is gonna be hole-tastic, and I'll either fill em or fabricate something different that uses the stock holes. Either way its a bit of work.

I’ve removed the “4x4” from the tailgate. Used non-wax dental floss to “saw” thru the adhesive backing. The adhesive came off with either WD40 or rubbing alcohol…I don’t remember which.

I’ve found most automotive adhesives are safely dissolved by either WD40 or rubbing alcohol. If one doesn’t work, try the other.
