Shaving Emblems

I used fishing line then a 3M stripe off wheel followed by a little goo gone. Come out perfect removing the RHO (replaced with the “angry rhino badge”), the 4x4 and the RAM on the front doors. The 3M stripe off wheel is the best.

Did you think the 3M wheel was required or will enough elbow grease and goo gone get the job done? I've never used the wheel... do you keep it lubed with water or goo gone as to not damage the paint?

Get the wheel it's really easy to use. Think of it as a spinning round eraser on a drill no lube required just don't spend too much time in one spot or you'll get burn through (paint). Use goo gone after that for any smidges you may have left.

Yeah, I wouldn’t suggest doing this without the 3M wheel. Sure, you can do without it, but gets the thick adhesive off very quick then it will buff out any lines left on the edges. Do a quick wipe and you’re done. It’s essentially a large wax-like attachment for a drill.

So, I owned a Launch Edition TRX which was stolen a little over a year ago.

My plan is to remove the RHO emblem and replace it with a Rebel emblem.

I call it my Redneck Security System. I'm gambling that the thefts aren't too bright and will see it's just a Rebel and leave it alone. :)

My fall back will be the IGLA system.
Honestly, that’s GENIUS!!!

I know a few people were asking if anyone put the rhino badge on the doors. I had an extra badge from when I ordered them for my tailgate, so threw some tape on the back so people can see how it looks (don’t want to use the 3M on the back because I’m not doing it). I don’t personally like it because this badge is too thick. But just snapped some pics so you can see.

I did two spots, one up top like how the Durango had and a spot low where the RAM used to be. I think the thinner rhino badges (pic below) might look better on the doors but I only had the thicker one.

Think something like this would look better:

I made a video; I just need to edit it.

I used a cheap wheel ($7-9) and it works well but...I generally opt for elbow grease and I find it to be more up front work but less on backend. This go round I wanted to test out my fancy new polisher so I used the eraser wheel and you do have to be VERY careful to not let it build up heat and it DEFINITELY will create a TON of mess (wear a respirator or smell eraser shavings for a week, like I did), and you will need to polish after for sure. I used automotive masking tape (don't normally) and found the wheel made a perfect blurry mess. I only used it to get adhesive 95-98% there and adhesive remover to finish it off. I then hit it with fine polish and fine foam pad, took seconds to get it all purdy.

My wife doesn't get my badge OCD but she agreed the truck looks much better without all the busy lettering on the back. I'm stuck'ish with "RAM" and didn't need think I'd need the "RHO" and "4x4" reminder what I drove or how it operated.
