SiriusXM are right on the same level as the auto warranty scammers, so I wouldn't even feel remotely guilty doing this. So do tell... How does one go about doing this?
Alright bear with me on this… may seem complicated but it’s actually not and after the first time it’s a breeze!
Worst part about it is finding a dealership that is registered to do this. You HAVE TO drive to the dealer parking lot and do this there. I guess because once you send the radio ID signal through the app, it uses the GPS location of that specific dealer and that’s how it works. Sounds weird but trust me on that.
First you want to download this app. It’s called SiriusXM DEALER
Then you want to open and click the “Enter radio ID” tab
Then once you’re there, leave that open on your phone and go to your SiriusXM icon on your Uconnect in the truck and click on the little person icon as pictured here (keep in mind, I just took this photo from my wife’s Jeep so it’s different lol)
Once on your profile, scroll down to where it says “contact SiriusXM”
There you will see your radio ID which is where you input that on your phone’s SiriusXM Dealer app (make sure you put the dashes and capitalize the letters as well)
Once you’ve done that, you should get a “SUCCESS” message on the app. If not, that dealer isn’t registered with that app so you’ll have to find another dealer near you to do this. It took me a while to find a dealer near me that has it so I always go to it for 1 minute to do this and that’s it. You’ll have the demo for 3 months.
**** keep in mind, once you get a success, exit the siriusXM tab in the truck and put FM radio or something and give it a few minutes to register the demo and go back to siriusXM and you should have it ****
Since I did my wife’s car last month again I’ll show you it says “DEMO” on the profile. It truly does work. Did my RHO last month as well lol
