Standard 8’ wide garage

I have a narrow garage as well and have had a few issues with the fenders and some light contact. I'm trying to determine if I should PPF the fenders. Not even sure that can be done or if anyone here has done it? It's a bit of a pain with the garage and it limits my ability to lift, but I prefer to have it in the garage.

We’ve got a standard sized 1 car garage that I back mine into and I believe when I measured it I only had about 5.5-6” of total wiggle room at the door frame. It’s not a fast process and I usually don’t have to do it every day, but after doing it a few times it’s not too difficult anymore. I just use the side mirrors to make sure there’s some light between the door frame and fenders on each side until they’re in, fold the mirrors in, then continue in while trying to make sure I keep the back wall “straight” in the backup cam. I’ve go an outlet centered on the back wall that helps give me a reference point but do also try the tape on the floor method and honestly don’t look at the tape at all after the first time lol. It can be done, just will take 2-3 minutes instead of a quick in.

Height would have been an issue for me with the shark fin but our driveway slopes down away from the garage giving me enough clearance by a lot!

It depends on your situation. I have multiple mirrors because I have to enter my garage at an angle to miss the door opening, then turn slightly to avoid columns on both sides (that are not aligned with the door opening), then straighten up to avoid the column towards the front. So there are multiple (potential) contact points that I have to watch for. As you can see in the picture below, by the time I'm parked, I'm slightly offset from the door opening. So it's just a really tricky operation, and the more visibility I have the better off I am.
In your case, you might want a mirror just inside your doorway, so you can watch your mirrors and front fenders pass through. But maybe another set further in, so you can watch your rear fenders (if your side mirrors are folded in).

I'd be crashing into all that shit, house collapsing...🤷🏻‍♂️

My problem is the height. Width is fine.
The damn shark fin will hit. I’m currently looking into modifying the garage door.
My old 2500 rebel fit with the shark fin on the front of the roof by the amber roof lights. The RHO hits on its rear mounted roof shark fin.

Same here too, and by maybe by an 1".
But I would only put it in the garage to change oil or work on it in the winter. I have my wife's jeep in there a nx mh toys on the other side (vette and harley).

Load the bed up with something heavy, and you’ll probably sag enough to squeeze in.

Come spring I will look at it closer. It is just the cross brace that goes across the bottom of the door.

Have you tried backing in? Mine is close if I pull in forward. If I back in it fits. I think it has to do with the lip at the front of the garage. Just to be safe I also removed the bottom handle support (on the garage door) because it seemed like it might scrape the shark fin.

Just lower the truck, put on some 22" with 305s.

I’m gonna remove the garage door handle like you’re saying and see how it goes…it would be nice to get the RHO garaged for snow storms at least like my 2500 Rebel was

Based on the picture, it looks like you can make a huge difference by adjusting the upper stop limits on your garage door. That door could travel several inches further back up/in before a roller comes out of the track.
I had to do some finagling with my stops to get the door as high as possible (slightly higher than the header). My upper rollers are <1" from coming out of the tracks when the door is fully raised.

Thanks man. I never messed with a garage door so time to do some tinkering

I can't see the full motor area in your picture, but there's probably an adjustable stop along the middle track (where the chain or belt runs). It will be near the motor. All you need to do is adjust it further back towards the motor so the door can travel further up. On mine, there's a set bolt that you loosen and then you can slide the stop back.
If you run out of space, i.e., it's up against the motor, then you might consider rebolting the black arm (that attaches to the door) a little further down the door. That would place the traveller a bit further towards the door, allowing for more movement. You just have to fiddle with it until it gets as high as you want - but still articulates appropriately.

Most openers will have that stop adjustable in the settings...have a look at the manual.

Goes without saying, but just in case, make sure the truck isn't in the garage when you are tinkering.

I hear you. I have a garage for a reason. I want my vehicles inside them. Thankfully my dealer was nice enough to let me drive the truck home and see if it would fit before I bought the truck. Good luck and I hope things work out.

Rob,
What is a 'IGLA immobilizer to make me feel safe parking it outside' Can you share a link. Altough I live in a nice developement, Theft is still a concern for me. Thanks.
Contact @Air’d outSRT about it. It’s the best anti theft measure available (to my knowledge).

IGLAUSA.COM is our main website and has information about it as well. Headed to the airport but can answer any questions you have. Shoot me a private message if you like

Josh

Mission accomplished. I had my wife stand in the bed and check as I crept slowly forward. I made it by about 1/4” with no garage adjustments needed!
