Thoughts on AFE charge pipes?

On the truck yes, obviously not like you've got a big single turbo with no filter on it spool noise..but increased yes.

The Charger Inlet is a bit different, honestly the RHO one seems like a much smoother design, so we were really hoping for a HUGE increase in noise on the charger.

the charger is currently somewhere that I can't disclose verifying some really cool parts that will be released for both platforms(RHO and Charger) Soon, otherwise i'd try to get a video.
Nice, Glad to hear more parts in the works!! I genuinely think theres enough of a market out there between all the HO and SO motors out there.

Funny u mentioned porting. I took the Y off again today cuz i wasn’t happy w the one hot charge pipe ( shorter one) interior weld. I took a carbide burr to the charge pipe interior clumpy weld and a dremel to the plastic Y. It’s molded plastic and if u run ur hand in there u feel all the sharp edges and shit. I just smoothed them both out. It’ll have to do until we get more aftermarket stuff.
I did the exact same, need to get a new bit though and finish it

Put mine on yesterday, hot pipes only for now, definite increase in part throttle spool sound
Nice, curious did you guys notice any differences after doing so?
Back when we did saturn stuff there was basically no aftermarket so we were reduced to porting out oem parts sometimes, and it always did make a difference, small maybe, but not nothing.

i never put in on before, the smaller hot pipe has one welded joint and the inside had a lot of weld spatter, just smoothed it out a little

Ahh sorry I misunderstood / wasnt being very clear there, I thought you also ported out the weird intake Y as well, but you meant just the hot pipe right?
But any noticeable difference other than sound on the hot pipes?

yes correct, i didn't touch the y

not that i can tell, realistically they won't net much power if anything. even if they give 5 hp, are you really feeling that difference in a big heavy pickup truck?

Gotcha

Yeah very true probably not, but you cant blame me for hoping its this amazing difference lol

Yea def ain’t gonna feel anything crazy. Just peace of mind knowing airflow is supposed to flow smooth and not hit a bunch of imperfections. For me anyway.
