Hey Gents,

Have been driving a code orange 2023 Bronco Raptor I bought in May of 2024. I do love the vehicle but towing leaves a lot to be desired and not having a truck bed is killing me. Decided I'm trading it in for a RHO. Thought about grabbing a Raptor or a used TRX but after I found out the RHO existed it seems like it's exactly what I'm looking for and it's not even that far behind a stock TRX.

If anyone has any advice on what to look for in a RHO, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking at a couple right now that have most of the higher end options on them and I'm frantically trying to research what the must haves are. Here is my Braptor...gonna miss her a little but I need a truck bed bigly & I already got smoked by someone driving a RHO.

Honestly the level 1 is a must! Like a no brainer if you are going to use for everyday stuff. Only time I wouldn’t get it is if I used the truck for off-road only but things like all seats cooled, massage seats, upgraded HK sound system that sounds great and 20 other things are really a must. With level one you can add sunroof and red accent and other small stuff but main thing is the level 1 and everything is comes with.

Always liked the bronco raptor. Might be my next vehicle.

I’ll play devils advocate to this. If I ordered, rather than just buying one I found sitting on the lot, I probably would have gone level 1. But the base model is awesome. The stereo sounds great, just as good as the HK IMHO, although I’m no sound expert.

Sunroofs scare the shit out of me. They’re nothing but problems in the long run. Hell, Ram can’t even seal the back windows properly lol.

Living in Arizona I do wish I had the ventilated seats. The heads up display and passenger screen are cool too. But $10k extra for those things is rough.

They are awesome & always turned heads. They look faster than they are (if they are stock). They also really stand out from the regular Bronco...just wish it had a truck bed. My kids are pissed I'm getting rid of it.

Good to know. If it has the massage seats it's Option Level 1?

Yeah massage chairs are part of level 1, auto pilot with auto lane switch works awesome. My wife feels like a real passenger princess with her cooled massage chair with her own screen and Starbucks lol

Level 1 has a laundry list of options. If I’m being honest, I tried really hard to avoid it because it’s $10k… and from what I’ve seen on used TRX, most of that $10k is lost in resale. That aside, there are quite a few things in Level 1 that I think are unnecessary, but there are a few options in that package that eventually swayed me.

A few things I wanted:
Passive entry
Rain sensitive wipers
Ventilated seats
Reclining rear seats
Heat/Vent rear seats
Pano roof - requires L1
Auto open/close tailgate

A couple nice to haves that I also could have done without:
Massaging seats
Hands free driving (It’s pretty cool, tho)
14.5” display (12” was fine)

A few L1 things I wish my truck didnt have:
HK sound system, I honestly think Alpine was better.
Digital rearview mirror - the camera is pretty terrible, especially at night.
360 cam - again, camera quality is pretty poor, and the display sliver offered to this camera is ridiculously small.
Passenger display - I’d rather have the 2nd glove box.

I’m curious how you do on trade in on the Braptor. I’ve been looking at a Wildtrak for my wife and I see Braptors at $20k+ off sticker. If you’re okay waiting on a new order RHO for 3-4mo, you should be able to get $10-12k off without much effort

Yah the extra screen is cool. My oldest son is really bumming out Im ditching the the Braptor because I think he thought he’d get it when he turns 16 (not in a million years would I give a vehicle like that to a 16 y/o lmao)…he’s getting a beater Honda civic like I did.. I think once he sees the interior of the RHO & realizes it’s faster though he will get over it quick.

Wow good to know. To be honest most of the ones I’m seeing in my area are in that 85k-83k price range & are pretty optioned out. I’ve been assuming that means they have Option level 1 already. Not that crazy about a digital rearview mirror tbh. Seems like something that’s going to break some day down the road but it’s getting nearly impossible to escape too much tech & it’s cool to have it while it’s working.

I’ll post an update on what offers I’m seeing for trade in value from dealers. KBB has me at 75k for a trade in at the mid range. I got 10k off MSRP when I got the Braptor because it was the previous model year & had been sitting in the showroom for a while next to two 2024’s and they wanted it gone. They were asking 97k, sale price was 87k & out the door it was 92k so if 75k is what I end up getting offered, 20k after 1 year of ownership is about right & about what I’m expecting. Ford made too many Braptors & it seems like you can’t go to a Ford dealership without tripping over them. Hardly see many on the road either. It’s a great vehicle, I have no complaints about it other then it’s really thirsty for a vehicle that doesn’t have a truck bed & I need a truck bed.

Also worth mentioning that the turbo lag in regular mode on the Braptor is very noticeable. Sport mode it’s non existent. There was one time where I switched from regular to sport & the tranny got stuck in low & I couldn’t accelerate at all, had to pull over turn it off & then turn it back on again. It never happened after that, I’m guessing an on the air update fixed it.

The ventilated seats basically do nothing at all, if it makes you feel any better

You're forgetting the most important option on an oversized truck! The surround cameras is what swayed me for Lv1. Its worth it for off-roading and squeezing into tight spots in the parking lot!

Level-1 has too many good features to not get consider it. That assist driving is awesome going to work. Massage chairs are way better than Lincoln vehicles.
Mark Dodge is really fair with their trucks on the lot, but ordering through them will save you 10K. I would order a 26, that's open already.

That’s an interesting idea. I haven’t thought of that before tbh. Maybe I’ll look into that. Where is Mark Dodge located? I’m in SC.

Lake Charles, Louisiana. They ship too, about a dollar a mile I think.

Oh that’s not too bad, I’ve got family in Houma & Lafayette. Might give me an excuse to go visit. Do you know when they will actually deliver them?

No idea on delivery dates. 25s were hit and miss, not sure about 26s. Anthony follows the mark dodge thread on here daily. I would PM him to call him. He gives straight answers.

So as someone that owns a Bronco, too, although mine (my almost 16 yo son's actually) is not a Braptor, I highly doubt you'll miss it much after driving the RHO for a few days. The HP difference alone will make you smile from ear to ear. I actually came from a 2024 Sierra 1500 AT4X with the 6.2L (420hp) and the RHO is night and day better! With the Braptor putting out similar performance numbers I'm willing to bet you really won't miss it, aside from the ability to remove the top and doors that is.

As everyone else has said, Level 1 is pretty much a no brainer because there's so much to it. And I'm sure the Braptor is pretty well outfitted so leaving the Level 1 package out I think you'd feel like you're missing something. If you're looking to tow with it, probably add the towing package and maybe tow mirrors, too. I originally was thinking the mirrors would be too big and look stupid, but honestly with the RHO being a wide body, they fit perfectly! The bed utility kit I think you can probably leave out and just get the bed lined. But it is nice having the step to climb up as the RHO is a bit tall for my short-legged ass! Beadlock capable wheels are very nice....but definitely not a necessity as there as much better aftermarket options out there, especially if you want real beadlocks. The Beadlock ring kit for the factory beadock wheels will run you about $1200-$1300 and then you have to have them installed so at that point you're $2500-$2600 into beadlock wheels....that opens up too many other aftermarket options IMO. Offroad sidesteps or sliders....again....a few aftermarket options out there that others are installing so that's really a personal preference thing. Granted I have all of these options but I just happened to find mine sitting on a dealer lot waiting to be plucked and given a home. Myself, I can't imagine NOT having all of the options I have but I'm sure I could live without a couple of them. The rails that come as part of the bed utility group I'm not certain I'll use but since I have them I can probably find a use for them. I've actually considered pulling them out and selling them here locally, which is still on the table.

All in all, if you can find one optioned the way you want for the price you're comfortable paying....go for it! You won't be sorry regardless!
