Trading in my Braptor

Yeah I hear ya, we take our lumps and move forward. I will say this, my wife drives the '24 Braptor...while it is an awesome rig, this thing blows it away in almost every way. You will not be disappointed.
Awesome to hear. I decided to just go make the drive to go grab it. Very excited to get it on the road. I’ll post my initial reactions.

You will have fun on the roadtrip...right after I picked mine up, did 2400 miles to Vegas and back from OKC. Massaging seats while the truck drives itself hands free for the win!

For reference, I also sold my 2022 Bronco Raptor just before taking delivery of my RHO from Mark Dodge. I literally went to three local dealers and shopped it around before selling it to my local Chevy dealer. I was happy with $65K as mine had 30,000 miles on it. Also, I'm in SC too and have literally seen only one other RHO up in Greenville. @BMLK

Nice! I’ve got 3 more hours to Lake Charles. I’m Fort Mill, not too far from you. You like the RHO better?

I absolutely love this truck. It’s totally different than the Bronco Raptor, obviously. Just way more comfort, lots more room and tons more tech. I was about to order a 2025 F150 Raptor when I stumbled across the RHO. First RAM for me, and I couldn’t be happier. You will love it! Good luck!

Well… I’m stranded in LA. My Bronco’s electronics through a hissy fit on I-10 after I switched it into Sport Mode before I could get to the Dodge dealership so had it towed to a Ford Dealership nearby to have it reset.

Kind of would be funny if it wasn’t so annoying 🤬..Mark Dodge was understanding.

The morning I drove to the dealership to trade the ZR2 for the RHO, I fired it up and everything went haywire! Power steering went out, bunch of codes and lights, etc. Disconnected the battery and reset everything, buts it's almost as if these vehicles know you're trying to get rid of them and they freak out...😥

Battery reset didn’t do the trick for me unfortunately when I did it.

Thats funny ! I was in the same boat !! Almost ordered a Raptor and happened to drive by the Dodge dealership and saw the RHO sitting there and said to myself..... what the fuck is that :ROFLMAO:  And I was hooked :)

Figured I’d update you guys. It’s been a brutal weekend so far but it’s hopefully nearing its end.

I broke down on I-10 45 min away from Lake Charles after switching from regular to sport mode. I hit top gear & then the Braptor wouldn’t down shift when I took my foot of the gas, finally my acceleration completely died and I was doing 45 in a 70mph zone. Got over to the shoulder safely and ended up waiting 3 hours for a tow because I couldn’t get the Bronco to start. The battery reset didn’t work. I asked the tow driver to take me to the nearest Ford Dealership in Lafayette & instead he mentioned there was a Dealership in Crowley 5 min away. We went there. It’s a small dealership and they’ve got hours I’m not used to dealerships having so they were closed. Left it overnight and caught a ride to my wife’s cousin’s house who fortunately lives in Lafayette (thank God I broke down where I did I guess). Went back the next morning and tried the battery reset test again but it didn’t work and the tow made all the sensors in the Braptor go haywire.

I didn’t have an appointment but the dealership felt bad for me because I had come all the way from SC & was stranded, they told me they’d work me in between their customers who had their appointments..The dealership got it started it up and into their bay but my fuel pressure was showing a problem. About 8 hours later because of a huge amount of people with appointments it turns out my fuel pump needed to be replaced, basically the worst case scenario. They got in the fuel pump yesterday but their service department doesn’t open until tomorrow. They said they’d replace it on Memorial Day.

Was not the way I dreamed this trip to go but here we are. Hopefully I’ll get it back tomorrow & head to Mark Dodge to finally take delivery of my RHO 🙏

This is the earliest RHO breakdown story yet.

Wow !! Sounds like the Braptor doesn't want to be traded off :ROFLMAO:

Alright we did it!

Braptor was traded in successfully. Huge massive shout out to Mark Dodge, easiest and best dealership experience I’ve ever had. Would buy a vehicle from them again honestly. I told them exactly what happened with my Braptor & despite the fuel pump issue happening on my trip down, they didn’t ask to revalue my trade.

My first impressions with RHO were, WOW! The interior in this thing is incredible. I thought my Braptor was nice especially considering it was optioned out & it really doesn’t compare to how nice the RHO is. Crazy amount of space as well. My 4 year old will not be able to kick the back of my seat anymore. Massage seats were especially nice once I had been sitting for a while.

The Braptor sits really high & wide, as does the RHO, but the RHO feels way bigger. I think a good chunk of the Braptor width is the fenders tbh.

I drove over 300 miles so far and my fuel economy is pretty shitty, just over 12 mpg. When I first got my Braptor it was similar but improved over time and I topped out at 14.9mpg. I imagine the RHO will be similar.

One thing that immediately was obvious was the RHO RIPS. It does 0-60 somewhere between 1-2 seconds faster then the Braptor and that felt obvious to me immediately. I’m making a conscience effort not to touch sport mode until I’m through the break in period but the speed difference is crazy obvious. Another thing, the turbo lag in the Braptor can be really bad in normal mode. Didn’t experience that in the RHO. If there is turbo lag I maybe so used to how bad the Braptor can be that I didn’t notice it.

The RHO is QUIET. No more wind noise. Much more driveable. The Braptor wind noise wasn’t that bad when I first got it but after I took the top off for the first time, it was never the same. It’d be nice to have a little more exhaust noise, but I haven’t tried sport mode yet, so maybe that will wake up the truck. My wife prefers quiet though, so she will be happy. The downshifting on the Braptor could be very aggressive and she hated that. The missus will definitely prefer the quiet & luxury of the RHO. She didn’t care for my Braptor too much and she basically refused to drive it.

In person the RHO looks very aggressive as does the Braptor. I love the little light thing it does when you unlock the vehicle.

The amount of tech inside was a little overwhelming at first. Going to have to really get a feel for what all the pages & apps do. Feels like I will spend a week mastering it all, but I love the display & the HUD is a really nice feature I didn’t know I wanted. It was nice having it because it’s been pouring and it helped me keep my eyes on the road.

So far I’m very happy with my decision. This truck is just what I wanted. Off-road fun like the Braptor, but faster, & also the practicality of a pickup plus I’ve gotten so used to how cramped the Bronco is having the extra amount of space of the RHO is really nice. Didn’t realize how uncomfortable I was sitting in the Braptor until I was riding in this thing.

I’ve got some big plans for this truck. First thing is to get some running boards & then going to tint the windows. I want to do a black satin wrap too. Once I put some more miles on it I’ll probably add a JBL tuner. Can’t wait to put some more miles on this beast & get it looking even more aggressive!

Remember the break in and then rip it at 500mi. Also, coming from a ‘23 Raptor, I’m still figuring out the uconnect after 2 weeks lol. Love the color!
