Alright we did it!
Braptor was traded in successfully. Huge massive shout out to Mark Dodge, easiest and best dealership experience I’ve ever had. Would buy a vehicle from them again honestly. I told them exactly what happened with my Braptor & despite the fuel pump issue happening on my trip down, they didn’t ask to revalue my trade.
My first impressions with RHO were, WOW! The interior in this thing is incredible. I thought my Braptor was nice especially considering it was optioned out & it really doesn’t compare to how nice the RHO is. Crazy amount of space as well. My 4 year old will not be able to kick the back of my seat anymore. Massage seats were especially nice once I had been sitting for a while.
The Braptor sits really high & wide, as does the RHO, but the RHO feels way bigger. I think a good chunk of the Braptor width is the fenders tbh.
I drove over 300 miles so far and my fuel economy is pretty shitty, just over 12 mpg. When I first got my Braptor it was similar but improved over time and I topped out at 14.9mpg. I imagine the RHO will be similar.
One thing that immediately was obvious was the RHO RIPS. It does 0-60 somewhere between 1-2 seconds faster then the Braptor and that felt obvious to me immediately. I’m making a conscience effort not to touch sport mode until I’m through the break in period but the speed difference is crazy obvious. Another thing, the turbo lag in the Braptor can be really bad in normal mode. Didn’t experience that in the RHO. If there is turbo lag I maybe so used to how bad the Braptor can be that I didn’t notice it.
The RHO is QUIET. No more wind noise. Much more driveable. The Braptor wind noise wasn’t that bad when I first got it but after I took the top off for the first time, it was never the same. It’d be nice to have a little more exhaust noise, but I haven’t tried sport mode yet, so maybe that will wake up the truck. My wife prefers quiet though, so she will be happy. The downshifting on the Braptor could be very aggressive and she hated that. The missus will definitely prefer the quiet & luxury of the RHO. She didn’t care for my Braptor too much and she basically refused to drive it.
In person the RHO looks very aggressive as does the Braptor. I love the little light thing it does when you unlock the vehicle.
The amount of tech inside was a little overwhelming at first. Going to have to really get a feel for what all the pages & apps do. Feels like I will spend a week mastering it all, but I love the display & the HUD is a really nice feature I didn’t know I wanted. It was nice having it because it’s been pouring and it helped me keep my eyes on the road.
So far I’m very happy with my decision. This truck is just what I wanted. Off-road fun like the Braptor, but faster, & also the practicality of a pickup plus I’ve gotten so used to how cramped the Bronco is having the extra amount of space of the RHO is really nice. Didn’t realize how uncomfortable I was sitting in the Braptor until I was riding in this thing.
I’ve got some big plans for this truck. First thing is to get some running boards & then going to tint the windows. I want to do a black satin wrap too. Once I put some more miles on it I’ll probably add a JBL tuner. Can’t wait to put some more miles on this beast & get it looking even more aggressive!
