That’s perfectly fine except for the person that came for a TRX and gets gatekeeped trying to get one.Yep. People come into the showroom for the TRX and buy the RHO that looks like the TRX.

That's the feature, not a bug. Exclusivity keeps interest high. That’s perfectly fine except for the person that came for a TRX and gets gatekeeped trying to get one.
ExactlyFor Stellantis, this is probably about keeping the TRX as an aspirational Halo car instead of something people get sick of as it floods the market. It increases demand and excitement for the RHO, because the TRX is an RHO with the Hellcat engine. The RHO is a great value, but the Hurricane engine isn't special enough to be a Halo car. The entire purpose of having a Halo is to drive excitement to your volume brands. Ram will make more money by keeping the TRX limited and therefore special than it does by allowing everyone who wants one to get one for a year or two until no one cares anymore and the brand collapses.
That is going to be on a dealer by dealer basis. There are going to be dealers that curate TRX lists and sell the trucks to customers who have waited patiently. Think of it like people who order high end Porsche or Ferrari. They wait years for the opportunity to get their car and to some the anticipation is part of the fun. That’s perfectly fine except for the person that came for a TRX and gets gatekeeped trying to get one.
Welp, if you’re a Player. Play and Pay.That’s perfectly fine except for the person that came for a TRX and gets gatekeeped trying to get one.
TRX’s are built on the same assembly line as the RHO and vulnerable to all the same tech issues. There is literally nothing special about a six-figure truck that depreciates 30-40% in the first 3 years. These are not collector cars with a storied history. If you’re a baller and don’t have regard to money, go for it. No way the “mating call” V8 exhaust is worth $25k more than an RHO. If I want a TRX, I’ll wait a few years and buy it at a severe discount from someone who likely paid $20k over sticker. Just ask all the Final Edition buyers. "TRX will likely have very similar build quality to RHO. RHO build quality varied…mine was pretty bad.
The TRX should solve the RHO’s engine detractor, but at well over $100K out the door at MSRP, for RHO build quality. I mean, they are built in the same factory by the same factory personnel. Nope, not going there."
Nailed it 100%....Original post is just a sales advertisement....just sayin
You are in the majority for sure with that line of thinking. $50k over is ridiculous and I don't see how they ever get that kind of money for the truck, but there is so much more value in RHO at a discount than TRX over sticker. 90% of people don't drive the trucks to their maximum anyway and a $40,000 difference in transaction price is a huge premium just to say you own a TRX.The TRX is 25,000 more than the RHO although it includes L1 so not apples to apples. I got a 12,000 discount when I bought the RHO. That same dealer is now charging a 50,000 ADM on the TRX. So basically, it would cost me 87,000 more for a TRX than I paid for the RHO all in. Although I think the RHO may be a better daily, I'm not even about to have that conversation. Completely absurd.
So odd you should say that Adam. I just got a text from my local dealer who has allocations with a 5,000 ADM, I can order today. With my 12,000 discount I can probably sell the RHO for close to what I bought it for and the difference would be right around an additional 40,000 to trade up. You are correct sir, that's a huge premium at about 92 bucks per horsepower difference. Unless I absolutely hate the hurricane I can't see that ever happening but hey, look at the premium some guys paid for the demon. Agree 100%. I thought the RHO was great, and then put a CAT6 on it and now it's fantastic. I'm guessing it puts out ~600 HP with the tuner and I honestly don't know where or when I could ever use another ~177 HP. I know - more is better - but not at a six-figure price, but that's just me.Obviously I haven't driven the 2027 TRX, but having driven the 2024 and comparing it to an RHO, the RHO actually had a better driving experience. I felt as though it was tighter and just drove out better. The difference in just raw power doesn't come up frequently enough for me to justify the price difference. Add to that the fact that 540 HP is still more than capable of whatever I am going to throw at it.
100% but that’s why I have my 550hp N.A. MustangHaving sold my 21 TRX for my 26 RHO, y’all are coping. I miss black Betty every single day.
That being said, I’m not paying $110k for a 27. RHO is plenty of truck and the driving experience, unless you were actually racing it at the strip etc, is the same. The RHO drives better, not as heavy, not as much roll on turns, not as much nose dive.
The whine of the supercharger like a mountain lion in heat is irreplaceable though, and my RHO sounds like a vacuum. Sure is pretty though!
Curious - why did you switch?Having sold my 21 TRX for my 26 RHO, y’all are coping. I miss black Betty every single day.

Never bought an extended warranty and the 5/60 ran out since it was a 21. After seeing several people with injectors stuck open and hydrolocked motors not covered by warranty, I got nervous. The cost to replace the block and blower is $15k-$20k.Curious - why did you switch?
