What did I do wrong

I have a 2026 Level 0 RHO. I purchased a Banks Pedal Monster because I hate the dead pedal feel on all these new vehicles. Had one on my previous truck and loved it. No issues or CEL's. I hooked the Pedal Monster up last night using the following procedure:

1) Disconnected IBS from negative terminal of main battery
2) Disconnected negative terminal of main battery
3) Disconnected negative terminal of auxiliary battery
4) Installed Banks Pedal Monster
5) Reconnected negative terminal of auxiliary battery
6) Reconnected IBS to negative terminal
7) Reconnected negative terminal of main battery

When I started the truck I got a CEL. I'm hoping it will go off on it's own after a few more drive cycles. Everything seems to be working as it should (both truck and Pedal Monster). Anyone able to help me understand what I did wrong and how I can avoid getting another one (assuming this one goers away) when I remove it? I do have a basic scanning tool. If I were to remove the Pedal Monster and put truck back to stock will a basic scanning tool clear this code or is it behind the "Stellantis Firewall"?

A while back I think there were some folks saying there was an issue with the Banks not working with the RHO’s.

You may want to do a forum search and call Banks.

UPDATE: After two drive cycles the CEL has gone off on its own. I think it was just a communication error when I reconnected the batteries. Now that the truck sees everything is working correctly it reset itself. I'd still like to know the 100% correct procedure for removing it however. I'd like to avoid the CEL all together if possible. So I'm still looking for procedural comments.

I've had my RHO since March 2026. I've read a million threads about electrical gremlins but can honestly say I haven't really experienced anything. Yes, once in a great while the Apple Car Play will cut in and out for a split second and the buttons on the UConnect screen don't respond instantaneously. But think about how much information that screen has to display. If it takes 2 seconds I'm ok with that. This isn't to say I won't have any issues down the road. I only have 7K miles on the truck. But I don't think the blanket "truck has electrical gremlins" is always accurate....jm2c

The problem people were having with the banks is not that it didn’t work, it wasn’t shutting of with the truck and people were waking up to dead batteries. Supposedly banks updated the software but people were still having issues. It could have been a coincidence with other battery drain issues people were having, I don’t know. I have one in the garage that I’ve been meaning to test out.
