What did you do to your RHO Today?

Kind of messed up my driver side cv shaft just a little bit.........Soooo, apparently the JB4 on map 2, launched at WOT on concrete, with the Eibach pro springs, and 37x13.50's don't play nice together with the CV shafts......

The tulip inboard tulip joint on the driver side, completely shattered, and got all twisted up inside the boot, without putting a hole in it. The boot was the only thing holding the two half of the shafts together. If it had split, both halves of the shaft would have beat the absolute crap out of the front suspension and diff.

Truck looks great! How do you like the 37’s? Any issues with rubbing? I have the same Eibach 2.7 Front and 2.6 rear. I plan to do 37’s but debating on changing wheels. The stock wheels look good!
Do you have a picture of the 2.7f/2.6r with your 35’s? I’m curious what this looks like. I want to do 37’s down the road when the tires wear out.

Easy to unscrew and empty. I checked mine and emptied it yesterday after 3500 miles, it was half full and it looked like Yoohoo.
Is that normal? The catch can I had on my ‘14 Ram always looked like pure oil. Would a Yoohoo appearance imply water/condensation?

Regardless, my catch can for the RHO is on the way. It’s one of the best bang for the buck mods I can think of.

@TXRHO did you have the Front Ride Height Sensor Linkages replaced when you added the Eibach Pro Springs?

Yes. I put them in during the spring install, and they work as deigned. The truck runs like a scalded dog. The issue is a result of the increased angle of the cv joint caused by height gained by the spring.

Will your dealership cover it under warranty?

Do you have the 1.6 or 2.7 front springs? I have the 1.6 springs but have not installed them yet.

Had the MRT Trail Ready Mid Pipe exhaust kit installed today (valves were deleted). Sounds much better to my ears. It has a smoother deeper and more refined tone with much less pronounced gear shift BWAAAPS. Idling sounds much better.

If you want loud this kit is not for you. But the tone is much better IMO.

I’ll try to get comparison videos posted up in the next day or two since MRT doesn’t seem to have any comparisons of their kits to stock.

Picked it up from the auto body shop after the 3 day repair took almost three weeks. Unfortunately a contractor working at my house backed his trailer into the front end. Surprised how easily the bumper caved from him going less than a few miles an hour in reverse. Front hands free driving sensor proved to be a pain for the shop to calibrate and took almost three days to get right.

Annoyed with the whole situation but happy to have big blue back finally!

I installed the 2.7/1.5 kit back when Eibach had the same part #'s for TRX and RHO. Now they have a different part # for the front springs for the RHO.

Changed my driver rear tire in a Quik Trip parking lot on the way to work. No idea what I picked up or when but as I was driving to work I heard something hit the underside of my truck. I didn't see anything in the road so I thought "wtf was that?" I kept driving and everything seemed fine. I took my exit and as I was sitting at the stoplight to turn left, my tire light came on showing 29 PSI. Then 27 PSI. Then 25 PSI.....all in a matter of seconds. I pulled into the space at QT and got out and as soon as I got to the tire I could hear it hissing. Luckily whatever it was punctured the very center of the tread so I'll take it to Discount and have them patch it for free. But I just took my passenger rear not too long ago. I think in fact I haven't had a tire rotation since. So maybe this is my sign it's time to start tire shopping. My tires still have plenty of useable tread (at least half or better) but I apparently need some with a little beefier rubber compound that have better puncture resistance.

Needless to say my day has started off on a shitty note.....Here's to hoping it gets better!

More puncture resistance? Kinda tough to stop a nail or other sharp object as your 6500+lb vehicle runs over it.

Tesla has found a unique solution (none of their cars/SUVs carry a spare). They worked with their OEM tire suppliers to create tread designs that don’t pick up junk in the road, like nails/screws. You see, 80+% of all flat tires are on the rear. Why? Because your front tires pick up the object & while it’s tumbling around, your rear tires runs over it.

I don’t think anyone makes that sort of tire for our RHOs, but you can ask.

Not looking so much for puncture resistance. I might have misstated that a bit. Tougher sidewalls really, but yeah it would be nice if some better rubber compounds were a little more resistant to punctures. Honestly, with all the damn highway construction going on here in DFW on the major thoroughfares, I'm surprised this hasn't happened to me more often.

All of this is really to say I might can justify buying new MT Baja Boss's to my wife. 😁

I’m right there with you, I can get pretty creative in finding ways to justify spending $. I’ll probably have a new set of Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks on my RHO within hours of getting my first flat. Best tires I’ve ever had on a truck.

And in what might be the most lame post in What Did You Do to Your RHO today:

Installed a new Center Console Seat/Bed for my pup. 🐶 😂

Photos, or it didn’t happen…

No pics but I replaced the wipers with a pair of BOSCH Primeactive blades because my OEM ones have been shit for the past 2-3 months. I've never had wiper blades go bad at under 15k miles and less than a year of ownership on a new vehicle.

Also "drained" the washer fluid reservoir and filled with some all-season stuff in preparation for this winter storm we're supposed to get here in NTX this weekend. Might actually test out my engine block heater too!
