What did you do to your RHO Today?

Should have no affect on the truck. Max ac, seats coolers on etc. :)

Chris

That’s what I thought. So, then the question is: is the voltage change any concern?

I know a lot of folks were hyper vigilant about checking, as was I a while ago. So I stopped checking and just happened to look today and noticed it was a bit lower than previous.

Hot today but I made it through the heat and I put on Adam’s Advanced Ceramic Coating, full prep. Turned out amazing did all plastic and glass too. I just find myself just staring at her😍.
The Adams is highly rated. Good test results. That is what Im going to use when I get to it. Also bought some RHO decals in white going to see how they look on a white truck. I dont want to stand out too much.

It’s my understanding that the voltage fluctuations are completely normal for a PCM controlled alternator and AGM battery combo.

I was thinking the same thing. What color white did you go with off white?

I've been keeping an eye on this for a while, on a 40-60 degree morning my voltage stays right at 14.5 for 99% of the time, in the afternoon when I'm coming home from work its will usually be around 14.1-14.2 when I have the A/C on, yesterday it was down to 13.6 on the way home from work. This morning it was around 14.2, but the A/C was on(this heat wave sucks).

I'm really starting to think the A/C causes some voltage drop, this is a trend I've been noticing.

I'm think ing about trying to delete the aux battery at some point and doing some experimentation, once I can find some free time.

I think a lot of the voltage changes aren't real. While driving mine will ping pong between 14.4 and 14.0 (those values, not between) back and forth sometimes.

I have a theory that the sensors actually suck. Which is a problem when we also know that bad batteries are also a real thing and we're all hyper fixated on voltage.

😂🤣😂

I thought I beat the dreaded dead battery issue. Without any warning…dead as a doorknob. It gets driven just about every day (sometimes it’ll go two a three days) including to church yesterday.

I was excited to go run an errand and hit the button twice to start it, nothing. Weird. Hit the lock button, nothing. Opened it manually and no dome light. All I could do was laugh.

I threw it on a great trickle charger that’s brought everything back, we will see if it starts in the morning so I can bring her in.

Cheers!!

Chris
Well I was going to remove the batteries from the truck and bring them in but they said the batteries need to be attached to the truck.

SO that means I need to have it towed in from my driveway...to say I dont trust tow truck drivers would be the biggest understatement. I have seen them do so much carnage to vehicles...including damaging past vehicles I have owned

I think Im going to give my battery charger a bit more time and see if I can get something from it and then drive it in...

Thoughts?

Hook it up to another running car for at least 15 minutes, then try and turn it on. You'll probably get warning lights, but it will be drivable.

To the main battery correct? Not the little booster battery

Chris

Correct, that's what I did
That worked!!

Im going to take her for a spin and then shut her down (in my drive) and then see if she will restart. If she does, its removal of the DS and then bringing her in.

If she doesnt restart, its removal of the DS, jump her again and bring her in :)

Be gentle......

The truck is acting like nothing happened. 🤣 Spoke with the dealer, bringing it in on Friday for battery swaps, oil change and alignment.

What about clear matte? Wonder if it would show enough. I have silver and was considering matte clear for a ghost effect.
Was thinking

That's interesting. The last time I really paid attention to the voltage, it was in last spring when it was still pretty cool (Ohio cool spring). My voltage was mostly 14.3-14.5, never went below 14.1

I agree, this heat wave sucks! I don't know how the Texas and Cali guys deal with this!! I was actually wondering if the stupid heat was having some effect on the battery.
