I'm curious who all has had catalytic converter issues? I'm STILL waiting on my truck to be repaired after it failed at 500 miles, while there the 2nd cat failed and had to start the wait all over again. Does anyone have pics of these failures? What is causing them?

Thanks

I just had my 2025 RAM RHO catalytic converter fail aT 2500 miles. Just yesterday 6-5-2025

I did like my RHO. Nice driving it.

This is causing me to wonder about the build quality of the Hurricane and the Rho.

Things can happen but I find a broken catalytic converter at such low mileage very concerning

I never had a catalytic converter go this early. None of my trucks ever did that.

I no longer trust the quality of the 2025 RHO

After 700 miles, one of my CATS went out and then after I got it back, 1000 miles later, the other one went out so now both have been replaced.

No failure yet. But had a CEL for rich conditions on both banks. Hoping it’s a fluke and not the start of failures.

to do guys that actually had issues wity CATs, what gas grade were you using?

I only used the required high grade.

Never once used regular.

I may be mistaken but it seems there is an issue that causes the injectors to stick open and make the truck run very rich, hydro locked some motors it was so bad. The rich condition roasts the cats over time. Seems like the check engine for rich fueling starts to pop up. This is in a small portion of trucks it appears so far but a huge issue. Im wondering what they are doing to alleviate this issue beyond replacing cats. Hopefully this thread brings light to all occurrences.

Very interesting for sure. We have over 3k miles on ours and most of that with a tune. No issues, knock on wood. Wonder why some get affected and others don’t. Does anyone know if it’s happening on the Jeeps or other Rams?

make sure to take your trucks to the dealer and get the ECU flashed ASAP, there’s an “engine performance update” my dealer did that specifically addresses the cat melting issues.

I even left my Diablo CAT6 connected and they still did the update. I swear the truck runs better after too.

How did they do the update when the CAT6 plugs into the OBD port? Just unplug it and then plugged in back in when it was complete? What did they say about the CAT6? Hopefully they didn’t notate it in your file.

Do you know which ones need the update? I can’t believe they haven’t issued a recall. It would save them money to reprogram an ECU over replacing cats.

Sorry for all the questions.

Chris

Is your top speed reduced?

6.6k miles and no check engine lights for me outside of when my auxiliary battery pooped out... I'll go knock on something

I don’t know about top speed because the truck doesn’t feel stable enough to me to go that fast, so I’ve never tried.

As far as the OBD port is concerned, they left it unplugged and dangling when I picked up the truck. Funny thing is the CAT6 works fine without it plugged into the OBD port, I think that’s only for code reporting or something. Not sure but I can say it has no effect on the operating of adding power and improving the accelerator pedal.

I’m not sure which ones will need the update, but they did it will it was in for the steering TSB that makes the truck pull to the right, that’s fine now, it was so annoying lol

When did you have this done? I was at the dealer 5/30 and there were no new updates.

That’s really good to know if I’m taking it in for an oil change. I’ll just need to move the DS from the fuse box to somewhere more inconspicuous instead of completely removing it . :)

Anyone else have any experience with the truck not shifting once it hits redline? Mines been doing this every time I've tried flooring it, it hits redline and doesn't shift into the next gear at all, or it will but not until after about 2 seconds of the vehicle not going anywhere.

Did you lift / level it? Lots of info here on that.

What update and when was it released? Who has this information?

Service manager said nothing new for me. But mentioned a new TSB for the waste gate rattle. It’s going to be new C-clips on the waste gate rod

Yes I did the 2.7 inch eibach kit. But it was doing that even before I lifted it. You have a link to a thread where others are talking about this issue? If so I'd appreciate the link.
