2026 Loaded with issues - No improvement from 2025 known issues

This problem goes back a few years.

After > 30 days at the dealer I get my RHO back today. They replaced the TB2 module fixing the daily battery failure, however, the dealer informed me the Uconnect service message is still on and will not go away. The dealer indicated a “flash update” is due by the end of the month that should fix the issue. This is my first and last RAM purchase. Despite how great this truck looks, no new vehicle should have this many issues, especially issues they can’t quickly resolve. Good luck to all who keeps this vehicle.

Update: I picked the truck (2026 model) up this past Friday. The Unconnect message finally went away (although the dealer said that was not resolved). Drove it during the weekend and yesterday and remembered why I bought this truck. When it it running….it is so awesome. Well….woke up this morning to another dead battery. Back in the shop.

Gessh man. I'm sorry. That blows. Talk about bad luck.
Sounds like a trickle drain from somewhere? Maybe not the battery?

Good thing mine is a pavement princess. Can't imagine being 50 miles out in the desert/mountains when one of these things decides not to start lmao. Hell, I'm afraid to go to the grocery store in mine.

About a 50/50 chance of an something electronic not working every single time I start it. At least it's always been able to drive so far (for now)

Seriously, I've gotten used to driving with warning and check engine lights and have a Noco Boost HD in the back seat in case it doesn't start and I need to jump the battery. Crazy to think you have to do this with a 10-month-old truck with 5,200 miles on it.

I got mine for off roading, and haven't really used it for that yet, don't have confidence in getting into the backcountry with the issues I've been having. It's a real bummer.

Update: New RF module ordered and is scheduled to arrive Monday. Seems like process of elimination. I hope this resolves the issue.

When you push “OK” on the Uconnect message what happens? Are you able to do anything or use apple car play? I got that message one time, reset the infotainment and it has not come back.
I get the UConnect box error every week or so and just press “ok” and motor on. After the last OTA update it’s not nearly as frequent and it’s not enough of an issue to leave it at the dealer for any length of time. No CELs or battery issues to date at 5500 miles, so far so good. Hope the OP gets his issues resolved quickly!

Update: RF module did not fix the issue. The dealer indicated there is a STAR case already related to the same issue and requires as new Power Train Control module. He said a flash update is coming for existing units but the new module has the update. Let's see....

That uconnect box requires service message usually appears because for whatever reason its trying to update itself via the over the airwaves and it can't. One of the things sometimes we noticed here at the dealership is that when the module connectors are plugged together , sometimes a wire in one end of the plug is lose and that can cause random things at odd times. its one of those things that can be really touch to diagnose because one assumes its the module thats bad but its not always the part. sometimes a lose or corroded wire that is screwing up the connection and it takes that extra bit of time to diagnose. I don't know if this helps but I thought I would mention it. Most of the time, the erro message doesn't interfere with anything and it goes away after a little bit. Its usually more of a nuisance thing than anything.

Thanks. They fixed the Unconnect issue with the new Telematics module. I had the truck back for about 3 days with no Unconnect issues and no battery issues. Then the dead battery issues returned. The Uconnect issues seems to be resolved and now they are focused on the continued dead battery.

cool. Sometimes it can be the telematics module but again not always. glad it got solved. The battery issues sometimes, what you may find is that the stop start battery is weak from sitting in storage while the car is waiting to be shipped. If it drains, it can suck the life out of the normal battery real easily and generally you have to replace both batteries after they go flat a couple times. What ever chemicals they use in the batteries is just not as good as lead was 20 years ago but its a whole lot less toxic then lead. IF you find the car will sit for more then a couple weeks at a time without being driven, I would consider a trickle charger just to keep the batteries topped off. Its not necessary but it can help especially if you live in an extreme cold or hot climate.

Wow... I have been so close to buying an RHO but now I'm getting second thoughts. It would be my only vehicle/daily driver and where I work not showing up or showing up late isn't an option. It seems unreal that ram hasn't figured out the battery issue While I too would probably be always using a trickle charger and always carrying a battery jumper but that only masks the problem resulting in it never being fixed. I currently have a GM and had the 6.2L engine die at approx 22k mi. It was replaced in 2 weeks of which I had a loaner for most of it. Now it has 44k on it and not a single other issue. This back and forth to the dealer and dropping the truck off wouldn't work and I would trade it. I half ponder whether the trucks with the higher MSRP will have better batteries or something fixed??? Also it would be nice if RAM upped the electrical warranty as that seems to be the real concern. I would blow through that in a couple years and electrical issues are not a cheap fix. Anyway I hope things turn around for you RHONC. You sir, have been put through the ringer.

Did they replace the batteries when they fixed the telematics box?

My 2025 GMC AT4 3.0L had it's engine replaced at 5,554 miles (thrust bearing blew up). GM has offered a buyback. I guess RHO is not my next truck. It seems like they all suck.

The RHO is not a bad truck. If you look on some of these threads there is always issues and you are looking at an ultra concentrated form of it. The percentage of absolute lemons is incredibly small on most vehicles.

Buy from a reputable store and that has a good service record and checks over the car thoroughly before delivery. Most issues should be caught by the PDI inspection but I can only assure you that 99.8 times out of a 100 the cars are good and you won't have any significant isssues, which considering how complex todays cars are is amazing.

Nice! Glad to hear. Most of the ones I have delivered have been no issues.
