2026 Loaded with issues - No improvement from 2025 known issues

Whew , I just bought my 2026 RHO on 12/8. Lev 1 with tow package.
Fingers crossed here. I had a 2020 Tundra Limited and wanted to get something new. Just prior to looking at the RHO I was seriously considering and almost bought a 2025 Tundra Capstone. Then started to look closely at the engine failures plaguing the 22, 23, 24, 25 and into the 2026 MY's. GMC has issues with the 5.3L and 6.2 L. Not sure what is a reliable truck at this point

New batteries and a HDMI plug? I’m not trying to belittle your issues but in the grand scheme of scheme of things these seem like minor nuisances. Especially compared to issues the competition is experiencing.
Really? It’s killing the truck requiring a jump start every time he drives. Odd post.

I was the original poster. Update - after the new PCM, the truck is working great. One thing for others to watch - When I was having battery failures (the day before a failure, etc) the battery voltage was in the 13’s, now with the new PCM it is consistently in the 14’s. Enjoying the truck again!

Glad it all worked out. We all have had our share of issues and you might still see a few more here and there. Just like Kyle said in another post, so many small issues here and there that come and go that you will get used to it. We should not, but this damm truck is so fun to drive that you take more than usual.

I have a recall show up on my email report and when i try to open it i can even see what it is anymore. I hope it does not blow up!!

That’s been my thoughts, your last sentence. I had a 2021 tundra Trd pro that was bulletproof. With the new tundras, obviously issues ‘a plenty. I kind of look at all trucks now with a hope that whichever one you pick out is a good one. Before the new tundra, I would’ve promised you Toyota made a better truck than anyone else. Not anymore. I think they all have their issues and again you just hope and pray the one you pick out, works out.

I would just like to share my experiences with my 2025. When I first got it, the battery gauge always seemed to be all over the place when I drove, sometimes in the 12v range and rarely would get up into the 14v range. If I was doing something in the truck with the radio on, it would quickly dropn into the high 11v range. One weekend I decided to try the battery repair function on my Noco charger, left it on for a cycle or two for each of the two batteries. Since doing that, I have not had a single charging issue and my volt gauge never drops to where it used.

Hello, @RHONC and others! Sharing a little update here that may be relevant.

We'd like to clarify that a telematics box module (TBM) update that was previously running for a short time last year, was restarted this week. Some customers may have received the update last October prior to over-the-air updates being paused. This TBM update is for MY25 and MY26 DT vehicles only for the Uconnect Box Error Message.

If anyone experiences a concern during or after the update, please reach out. As a reminder, our suggestion for all OTA updates is to schedule at a time when you can ensure good cellular coverage to the truck so there is less chance of the update being interrupted, and to not drive while the update loads.

If you visit your dealership, they can also share Technical Service Bulletin 08-339-25 with you, which lists the fix as:

"The customer may comment on the following:
● Radio screen displays "Uconnect Box Error" with the message "Uconnect Box requires service. Please visit
an authorized dealer""

Thank you and as always feel free to send us a PM if you have questions or require additional support.

So, last week I took the OTA update successfully, I also had my oil changed at the dealership...Everything was fine until last Sunday...Everything normal...1/12/26 Monday afternoon, would not start...Took more than 15 mins to get it to start, using a NOCO GB70 & GB50, then having to resort to the old method of Jumper Cables, which did manage to start the truck up...However, Check Engine Light, Service 4 wheel drive and the Mirrors would not articulate to there normal operation position...4 Wheel drive system was truely locked up, as I soon found out trying to back out of my drive way...Drove back up the drive way and just let it run for 15 mins...Ran some errands, came back and restarted the truck...4 wheel drive service light gone and the 4 wheel drive panel (right of steering wheel) illuminated correctly...Mirrors working, check engine light still on...Went for a 34 min drive, battery volts started off at ~13.5 slowly creeping up slowly to 13.9 volts by the end of the drive...The Day before it was reading between 14.4 to 14.7 volts...
So as of Monday night I have low volts and check engine light still on...Today ~11 hours later. 1/13 Started up no problem, check engine light gone, volts 14.6 to 14.8...
However, I had to drive around with the Lane Assist not functioning and it cycling to have me take a cup of coffee...I'm sure there is a proper term...So, I'll lock the vehicle down and hope that when I go for a drive in 40 mins it powers up again, and all this nonsense is gone. Maybe it's a "Sovereign Truck"...Like you don't take it for a drive, it just Travels around best way it can...Seriously, what to do next, Dealership? replace batteries on my coin?

Went outside (35F) restarted again, all is as if nothing had happened...The only thing I can think of that might be a contributing factor, was last Sunday when all was well, I had a long object in the bed, which precluded me from closing the tailgate...I had a red warning shape indicating the tail gate was down for the 5 mile drive back home. Once the object was removed tried to Auto Close the tailgate by pressing the side button and then the center tailgate lever nothing happening, so I had to close it manually...Maybe the BCM sensing system or actuator recognized a command to close had been given but failed to operate and thus left the system powered up...I'm Clutching at straws, but have no other recourse...I also think if I go to the dealership, they'll tell me no faults found.

My cummins had this issue and was never able to be fixed so i gave up and just dealt with hitting ok for 4 years lol
I did this on my 2021 Durango RT for several years as well. I would just hit ok and it would go away for some time and then randomly come up upon start up every so often. Traded it in for my 2026 RHO that I now have for just over a week so far. Looks like my "ok button" saga may continue haha.

I had my antenna replaced and haven’t had the message since.
