ADA Safety Issue & STAR Case

Chris. With all due respect, the ADAS on these trucks is brutal - Cant lane keep. Can’t even make mild sweeping turns on a highway. It’s sucks and it’s not even useable unless you’re driving in a straight line. And even then it’s not great. I’ve had mine looked at twice now and can’t replicate / operating as designed is what they say. Now my new Tesla is the complete opposite of the ram.

Well strap yourselves in boys and girls, it's gonna be a bumpy night! I just got a call from Stellantis corporate telling me they are going to take action on this problem. Their commitment is to test RHO's in their fleet to try to replicate the problem. If they can't replicate it they'll send a team here to work with my truck until they resolve the issue up to and including design change and / or recall. They're following up with an email to keep me up to speed with progress.

That stuff is step 52 and we're only on step 1 but I'm encouraged we have the corporate folks off the dime on this issue. I'll keep you all in the loop and hopefully get a hands free system worthy of the truck. Stay tuned.

I just got an email with a case number from the Senior Executive Case Manager with the Stellantis Executive Office. Fingers crossed.

No. But I paid a lot for shit that don’t work. Like phone as a key, CarPlay etc. Stellantis can’t even get that sorted out for a lot of us.

Bro...Phone as a Key is live and works great. Can't say the same about Hands "kinda" Free driving. BTW - Unless the STAR bulletin is to upgrade all the computers, there's no way these RAM trucks are in the same conversation as Tesla FSD. The Rivian is better than the RAM, but still no where as good as the Tesla. I'm really surprised we haven't heard of any of these RAM's crashing in Hands-free driving. This system is a liability and needs to be 100% supervised.

Agree with all. There is no STAR case on this yet, only an internal engineering case number. I don't expect Tesla levels of sophistication, but I'm also amazed nobody has been hurt yet with this thing running off the road and then saying take control.

Mine works pretty damn well. I’m hoping some of you guys just need a recalibration or something. Comparing a Tesla is comical though, you can’t compare a self driving car to an assisted driving application.
Ram has a lot of technical problems with these trucks, but it is good to see people at least be heard and get assigned case numbers and follow ups from corporate.

That would be enormously helpful, I can forward them to the engineering team investigating the case if you can forward them along.

I disagree that Rivian is better than the Ram. Rivian driver assist is not great.

They may be. But my Ram system barely holds a straight line, hugs left hard and can’t even make gentle curves without staying into another lane and going bezerk and shutting down. It’s pathetic

Thanks Chris. Also for everyone who has read the thread, the STAR case that was given to me by RamCares is wrong so don't go to your favorite CDJR dealer and give them that. Its for the truck pulling to the left which is not the issue.

Anyone had this problem and had any correction that provided meaningful improvement? Mines been at dealer since last week and then just today called and asked a few more questions which prompted him to say “I didn’t know any of our vehicles had hands free.” Which didn’t inspire a ton of confidence on my end.

Really getting tired of stuff that should be 100% functional and isn’t. I love this thing but it better get sorted soon or I’ll be looking elsewhere. But what else is there? Maybe a Taco until they can show us the advertised stuff WORKS and doesn’t try to be Hal9000 and vaporize us randomly. I
