AFE Pedal 2 Metal - Has anyone used?

So my unit came in today. I'll probably install over the weekend. I got the red one because it's +20hp (black was +0). Will post an update asap. 20250903_195247.webp20250903_195226.webp

Did you guys who are using this product do anything special for the install (disconnect battery, keys far away etc)? Or did you just follow the instructions?

In hindsight, after reading this thread, I'm nervous AF about installing one of these things now.

I got the Roar Pedal (not the Commander), but they probably both rely on the same exact technology and circuitry.

Theres like 4 or 5 people on there talking about phantom acceleration, and one guy saying his truck put itself into park going 20mph. Kind of scary, might not even take the risk, and just return the thing once I get it. Idk
Just get a DS with pedal control…as a side bonus, an extra 100/ftlbs/hp!! :)

You have no idea how bad I want to haha. I convinced myself no power mods for 1 year though 😫. Still a bit nervous about this new-ish powertrain and potentially voiding it's warranty.

Eventually, eventually. Maybe an ECU tune will be out by then.

Well shit, I ordered the black unit 🙄

Whew! I was super worried I might lose 😉. Currently sitting in the City of Industry awaiting transport. Hopefully this weekend or early next week.
Awesome man, make sure to post an update on here as well (y)

I have the PC installed in mine. Truck sits all week and is usually only used on the weekends. No issues with it killing the battery so far anyways. 5 minutes to install. I like to run mine with the truck on sport mode and the PC on sport +2-3. The throttle response is incredible, any more than that is absolutely ridiculous, YMMV

Any pics of where you mounted it ? I'm waiting on mine in the mail

Just got the Roar Pedal today in the mail. Plan on installing it this week, and will post an update most likely early next week after I've had some time to test it out.

I have the pedal commander on mine too. Very easy to install and much better response.

The mixed reviews on the PC scared me off. I don’t know the difference. Im sure I’ll own them all at some point 😂

Not sure if this was directed towards me or not but if so I’ll post a pic when I get home Friday. I travel during the week for work

Yes it was and that would be great!

Update on Roar Pedal. Installed the Roar Pedal this week. I hesitate to call it an "install" because the installation is basically unplugging the sensor cable from the pedal, plugging the Roar Pedal cables in between them, and connecting the app via Bluetooth. Literally took 8 minutes. Reliably changes modes using the Bluetooth enabled phone app. Super easy to use.

The difference in throttle response is SIGNIFICANT and positive! I like Sport and Sport+ modes the best, because they make a noticeable difference in throttle response on tip-in and it feels like it gets off the line much faster than stock.

Yesterday on the 10-mile dirt road to my gun club I put the Roar Pedal in Race mode and the RHO in Baja. Man, that thing just gets up and goes! Easy to power slide the rear end out in a turn with small throttle inputs. Race mode, however, is a bit touchy around town. A slight tip-in and the truck jumps forward quickly, so I wouldn't recommend using it in a parking lot or backing into an area where you need a degree of precision (e.g., your garage or hitching a trailer). On off-road mountain trails or rock crawling, I'll use Normal mode, which is basically stock.

I haven't had the opportunity to do a pull in Launch Control yet, need to find a safe place away from school zones and grannies.

After three days, No CELs, codes, battery drains, or other electronic gremlins. Can't detect any change in the voltmeter, either.

I'm very happy with this product and don't see the need for a JB4 or DS tuner, well at least not yet. I'm still worried about doing something that might invalidate the warranty. I don't have experience with Pedal Commander, the mixed reviews put me off. I will probably try it some day, but for now the Roar Pedal makes an already great truck even more fun to drive in every situation.

Have you installed this yet? If so, what are your thoughts on it.

No I actually haven't yet 🤦‍♂️. I've been intending to do it, but keep getting busy and putting it aside/forgetting. I'm 99% going to be installing it this Saturday, and I'll report back. After hearing @CORhino testimonial I'm even more excited to finally get it in. Performance wise, the throttle response is basically my only gripe with this truck- so I can't wait to not have that bother me anymore.

@CORhino would you mind posting some pics if you have them? I already know what it looks like but it'd be cool to see it installed haha.

I heard my name...yeah, no problem. I'll take some photos later today and post them here. Stay tuned!

You'll probably get around to installing it when I get around to making more videos of the aFe exhaust!
