Has anyone had luck finding a plug and play cargo camera? I was surprised to find with all the cameras in the RHO, there isn’t one for the bed. Ideally a kit that integrates into the 3rd brake or a new 3rd break altogether.

Yes, well, I think so, it took me to a website. but.. i certainly missed that data! I went back to it "camera source" still can't find any length..... but i could be missing it!!

it says for ram 2021-25 I assume that is for years 21 through 25. I do use firefox for a web browser, so maybe it is displaying differently in a different browser?

I purchased the Rough Country bed cap. Found a long Fakra cable and purchased an additional OEM camera. Made a homemade mount, drilled a hole and found a rubber grommet to fit the hole and the camera end. Just unplugged the stock camera from the cab 3rd brake light and ran the extended cable out to the back of the cap. Works like a charm. I believe the new camera was $120 from one of the online Mopar part places.

Curious on how having it plugged in the 3rd brake light works.

Can you have it plugged in and the brake light assembled together etc. using the extension like this?

Has anyone used the kit available otherwise, where does that plug in? In cab somewhere?

I am looking for the same solution as above, but I also want it to be something I can reverse fairly easily, when I remove the cap etc.
 
Anyone that has done this... any tips and tricks would be appreciated.

I am planning on doing this hopefully tomorrow. But not sure what plugs are the easiest and best to tap into. I found a camera plug behind rear bumper. I found another under the drivers side rear cab. I believe there is a way to plug in behind the 3rd brake light but not sure how that works to get wire out of that location and have the brake light installed, do you just reinstall the brake light and have the wire protruding out somehow.

Anyone that has any info on the install please share!!
 
I am planning to use the Camera Relocation kit that @Mikey Swift posted, but my camper hasnt come in yet. I found this link for a GMC mod that I'm hoping will be similar for our trucks where a fakra connector exists at the edge of the head liner in-cabin that can be fished through a grommet underneath the rear seats. I have a rear camera for my dashcam that i was also planning to fish through that same grommet once the camper arrives.


I havent taken anything apart to investigate this yet, but that is my current plan.
 
Finally got my GFC installed yesterday and digital rearview mirror camera mod feels like a necessity now. I do have windows to see through the camper but they are smaller and more obstructive. Not only that, but i have 3 layers of window glass to look through, along with 3 layers of tint so you can imagine how dark it is to look out of the rear now.

I was planning all along to do the camerasource.com oem cam relocation kit, but the guys at the GFC install shop actually suggested Wolfbox bc that is what they use.

This is super interesting to me bc at ~$300, both the relocation kit and the 3-channel wolfbox dashcam essentially cost exactly the same, except that the wolfbox comes with 3 cameras. This could be a no-brainer for anyone without a dashcam yet. Im already invested in Blackvue ecosystem but am in need of digital rearview mirror and the 3rd cam can be mounted anywhere (i.e., bumper cam, bed cam, tire cam, etc).

I think i will test this option out, but curious if anyone has experience with it already.
