CEL at 268 miles

Update:

I got the truck back from the dealer and found it was a very minor issue that could’ve happened at any given moment.

A small hose had popped off and once they connect it, they cleared the CEL and drove about 30 miles with no issues whatsoever. When I picked up the truck the service advisor told me that when they scanned for codes, the technician knew exactly what it was and located it immediately.

Thankfully it was a small fix and I’m back up and running.

Glad it wasn't anything actually serious and they figured it out quickly. We need more of these stories to counter all the negative ones.

It looks like Brickell Dodge works fast and has a good technician. I have my truck in shop second day and they haven't touched it yet..

That is fantastic news! Crazy lows and highs we get from these trucks - and it just completely sucks you had it fail and strand you.

What dealership did you take yours too? I’m guessing you’re local in south Florida?

Arrigo Sawgrass. It was the closest one from where the truck broke down.

What is this hose for?

What is this hose for?
Honestly, I have no clue. I just remember hearing a lot of air sucking in when I gave it gas last night and sounded like I had a badass intake on lol. I’m assuming some booster cable.

I had ordered a 25 pack of stainless steel 1/4 - 1/2 inch clamps so I can clamp down all the hoses tight so this doesn’t happen again

Sounds like a vacuum line for something

Glad it was a simple fix. Would you mind checking your paperwork and posting the code they found? Thanks!

Can someone post a better picture of the location of that bad boy... so when it leaves someone else (me) stranded they can locate it hahaha

Sorry to hear! My truck had similar issues when I purchased and pic below were my codes. Cats were melted. 😞 Just read other posts glad it was just the hose!!

WOT at speed (not from stop) is recommended to seat the rings after 80 miles. Even if doing it from a dead stop, the result should not be melted cats.
Agreed it shouldn’t melt the cats. I was more curious than anything else.

So speaking of melted cats…anyone hear if it was just a bad batch of them or something? It seems “common” but there are tons of trucks out there without any issues.

Chris

I haven’t heard of anything as to why mine melted. It happened when I have about 1300 miles. I’ve put about 1700 miles on the new ones with no issues!

Melted cats, been there done that! Guaranteed, the weakest link such a shame.

for real - i still can't believe that getting stranded in a brand new $80K+ truck is a legitimate concern
We've been talking about this for months....I guess nobody takes us serious.
