Curious from owners why RHO over lightly used TRX - Was it just price or did you prefer it and why!

I think I would choose not to use features, therefore they don't exist. Got it.
No one said they don't exist. Do you really LOVE the passenger screen while you are driving your RHO? We have one in our Wagoneer and other than the initial amusement, it has never been turned on or used - and we travel a lot in that. Use the screen or not, I don't think the consensus is that the RHO interior is "miles better". Does it have a couple of extra bells and whistles - yes. But most people wouldn't know the difference - 98% of the interior is EXACTLY the same.

Do I love the passenger screen that I definitionally cannot use while driving? No, I guess you got me there. Shoot gotta go reconsider my whole life now.

Ahhh . . . you picked up on it! I guess it's the 2" taller screen that changed your life. MILES taller. Got it.

2023 I ordered a BMW M2 after driving a M3 and Supra. Got the M2 in, drove it but didn’t love it enough to sign. What I did love was the powertrain. Smooth, effortless power, solid shifts and excellent sound (Inline 6’s do it for me). What didn’t love was the interior space, heaviness of steering and overall experience. I literally told the BMW sales guy “IF BMW would put this drivetrain in a truck with useable space, bed, handle off road and tow, I would sign.” A few months later RAM drops the RHO. Easy choice to say the least. Although I’ve only put 30 miles on my truck, it feels and sounds like a M performance car in a truck body.
I’ve driven a TRX a couple times. I will admit in a straight line you can’t help but be like “hell yeah”! But for me personally it was similar to the Charger Hellcat. Yes it has a ton of power but I would own a M3 CS over one. It’s all about the experience of what you want. I like a vehicle to feel nimble. Others like a heavy torque monster.

I agree that as a practical matter, the RHO is the better engine. Setting aside some of the issues and limited reliability history, I would prefer the power delivery of the RHO - which I have driven. I love the surge of torque and low/partial throttle situations and it does feel/handle like the weight difference is more than 150 lbs (which is like 2%). At speed, my wife's Wagoneer feel quicker under partial throttle/lower RPM situations. Not that the TRX doesn't have torque, but it doesn't have the wave that hits as early - it needs some rpm to really start pulling.

But that sound! It does something for me! Plus I love my Ceramic Gray and black beadlocks. Choosing between these two is a great problem to have.

How do you that have had a TRX feel about the seats and leather of the RHO? Any big differences from the TRX?

The seats in the RHO have a massage function up front - otherwise identical. Again, to me, these interiors look exactly the same - but RHO def has a couple more features/bells/whistles. My TRX has some more carbon fiber bits & pieces - that's the one thing some TRXs have vs. the RHO - but that's not meaningful IMO.

My journey started mid 2024 in search of a high end performance truck (early retirement gift to myself).
So I heard the TRX was getting discontinued, and my local dealer had a 2024 Final Edition loaded White(no less) in the show room. Price was 124000.00, and get this, with a 24000.00 market adjustment added to the price. 150K for the truck. heard it was there for months with no interest. so I skipped the whole 21 year old salesperson thing and went straight to the sales mgrs. office. He knew i was serious and immediately dropped the market adjustment, and said he'd let it go for MSRP. I needed more of a discount, the TRX was excluded from the affiliate program, so the price was the best he could do (at the time). Couple months later checked website and the truck was still there. Stopped by and spoke to the same guy and he said 119000.00 would take it home today. I hemmed and hawed and declined. I waited another month, checked the website and the truck was still there. Scooted down to the dealers with cash in my hand, and the truck was gone. sold two days prior for 115000.00. Lesson learned! Wasn't interested in someone's used beater TRX, no more new TRX.s near by, so I ordered my RHO.

So had heart set on a new TRX, but the new RHO is no slouch, love the truck and very happy with the decision. I’ve had no problems or CEL’s nothing so far, I’m sorry for those who have. I will say this everyday i drive it im wondering if this is the day it breaks down from its early history of issues. The RHO in my opinion is more of a daily driver with plenty of power for any red light stairdowns. If had to complain about a couple things with the RHO, is the sound when it starts up, and people asking me in parking lots, Hey man is that a TRX?? haha yeah i know.
Other than that love the truck. Best truck i’ve ever owed. Now if there’s indeed a white unicorn coming in 2026 called the new and improved TRX with a supercharged Hemi V8 with all the bells and whistles the RHO has, then there might be a 2026 or 27 in my future. but until i see one, i will decide.

For me, I get a vehicle allowance and fuel card. One of the stipulations is I can't drive anything over 4 years old and have to get a variance for 8 cylinders (or greater / + power adder)

It was an easy approval for a 3.0L I6 TT

Lol that's funny man. My dream car is a 991.2 turbo S. I have a feeling though even if I got it then it would sit in the garage most of the time and I'd end up selling it in a year or 2 lol
Mine isn't a 991.2 TTS but I can promise you it wouldn't sit. You will find every excuse in the world to dive the shit out of it - especially when all of your P car buddies get together and drive back roads and meet up for dinner.

992 C2S with M Engineering stage 2 tune, 200 cel sport cats, and KW HAS. Start small and work up to the Turbo S - or the GT3 (RS one day)

Where do I send my résumé? Lines up with my personal stipulations... :ROFLMAO:

But it's coming back! There a long thread on the TRX forum about the topic - and mainly pricing. With the RHO being such a good deal and great truck (setting some gremlins aside), I think it's going to make it tough for RAM to ask a ridiculous amount of money for it. You can get a very well-equipped RHO for mid-70s - so I think asking for even 40k more for a TRX is a non-starter. I'm not saying people won't pay it - but volumes would be very low. If you can't get a well-equipped 2026 TRX for under 120k (and likely under 110k), I don't think they will sell well.

I like that line of thinking… but I have to say that every dealer around me is currently charging a $20-30k increased market adjustment for every Raptor R in stock.

I can’t imagine being a buyer at those outrageous prices, but obviously they’re getting it. I have a neighbor very interested in purchasing one at MSRP, but he simply can’t turn one up. I guess there’s potential for Ram to have a huge cost adder for TRX, especially if they end up with the highest performance numbers once again.

I traded my 21 trx with 18000 miles on a new rho simply because I wanted I newer truck and was concerned long term in buying the 25 trx that stellantis would stock enough hellcat engines to support a 10 year warranty.

I think the Raptor R prices will drop over time - just like they did for the TRX. Plus, if the TRX comes back and doesn't have a crazy sticker price, it will be an alternative to the R and balance out demand a bit. Knowing Ram, this isn't going to be a 700hp truck either. My money is on it starting with an 8 - there just isn't that much difference in the performance of the RHO and TRX right now. They need a bit more room to differentiate the product and therefore price delta IMO. I know the best times 0-60 are over a 1/2 second apart - but only avid followers of these trucks know that. I think the published times are only 3 tenths apart or so.

Do you plan to keep the RHO longterm and think any issue sthat may pop up can obviously be sorted out and fixed/repaired and then you're good to go again with an awesome truck :)

Very nice P car! Yea it's less of the Turbo S and more of me just knowing myself / my time i have for hobbies / and the terrible roads and traffic in the area I live. I still think someday i'll get one just to fulfill the dream but I still have a feeling it won't be around that long. All of my weekend cars have really only lasted 2-3 years except the GTR i kept a little longer.

Out of all the vehicles I have owned I have to say I think I loved my Wrangler 392 the most because it's been fun as a daily and it has gotten me through some serious crazy weather. Made some fun memories with it. Hoping the RHO is up to fill those big shoes!

Yea i have a feeling it's going to be the redeye version of the hellcat.
