Exhaust Valve Anatomy

Thank you! I’ve been so curious about the exhaust valves. I didn’t plan on changing the exhaust on my truck but that looks like a significant obstruction to flow.

Might be worthwhile just to cut that section out and replace with some 3 inch pipe. Curious how bad the drone is without the valves. I saw that MBRP video, not a fan of how their exhaust sounds. In the BMW world there’s a lot of options for exhausts, one popular option is a single midpipe. It changes the sound of the straight 6 and makes it sound a lot smoother.

Older post but I just got my 26 rho I love it but it's prius quiet,saw the mod with hose clamps and went a different route.
Stainless steel safety wire the valve has tanks on it I safetied the tang to the other side after I turned it full clockwise.
I noticed it kinda blanks in there at idle, it really smoothes out the tone ,at full open it's still halfway closed on a 2.5 in tube.
I found 2 2.5 bullet mufflers x12 inch I'm proabably have my exhaust guy put those in in the near future,cheap expirement.
