A lot of people on Facebook are complaining that once they bring their trucks into the dealer, the dealer does a flash update that limits the speed to 98 mph and the hp to 400. Anyone hear of this? Is there anyway to reverse that or tell the dealer not to flash update it? If this is true, this is absolutely terrible. We paid for a 540hp truck, not a 400hp one.

Note: I havent been to the dealer but man...

Not sure. My truck is about 2 weeks old. It goes well above 100. My issue is my performance page shows max of 400 hp. Not sure if its the uconnect system or I'm missing 100+ hp.

I’ve mentioned many times that I’m one of the lucky ones with a 98 mph top speed. This happens if you get a PCM replacement or update.

This does not happen with standard over the air updates. I’ve been fighting with Ram since March to try and get mine fixed. Nothing yet.

Could that be because it’s still under some sort of new break-in program on the ECU? How many miles do you have?

Mine was an early build, but it showed 540HP within the 1st 200 miles (I didn’t floor it until I passed the break-in specified 80 miles).

Recently, got my oil changed at the dealer at a little over 5K miles (2nd oil change). I’ve noticed mpg has jumped up. Wonder if they installed 0W-20 instead of 0-W40…no way to tell at this point.

I get the feeling FCA doesn’t care. They’ve got bigger problems.

It may be time to sue. When Mazda lied about the RX8 horsepower, they were sued by owners. Mazda offered to buy back every car on account they essentially committed fraud. If your RHO is advertised with specific performance (top speed included), and it’s not what you get as a consumer, in the eyes of the law, it’s fraud. Just saying…

I mean, should be pretty quick to tell if it TRULY only has 400hp or is some software glitch. Launch a 0-60 and report back.

Mine hasn’t been in for service but was built in late April. I’ll never test to see if I max at 98 or not, but my gauges definitely show over 500hp when I get on it. It’ll run a 0-60 in 4.6.

I got flash update recently and truck still shows over 500hp, it feels little slower though but I bet it's just me

From what I remember from one of Facebook posts by a RAM tech, truck that have faulty CAT's get flashed with different software that will prevent them to go bad again .. not 100% verified if this is true .. but feels like when I got iPhone 15 Pro MAX and it would get so hot I coudn't touch the screen, then with an update they reduced it's performace - but the performance was the first thing that was advertised when I was buying it :D :D

Mine showed 400hp as well after a launch/WOT. When I drop it off for the service shifter light replacement, going to ask them to open a ticket with RAM. I purchased a 540hp truck, not a base 1500.

Y’all should see the TRX forum. Everybody is offended because an over the air update to Uconnect made the engine graphic look like a Hurricane engine instead of a Hellcat.
Ram is now releasing a TRX-only patch that fixes the image. The villagers’ torches are still burning until the results are seen

Ill go log on, i gotta see this chaos :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Why are TRX guys so obsessed talking down on the RHO? It’s honestly coming across as a little self conscious at this point. Do they not realize they have the superior performance RAM truck?? Or is it that with a $700 tune it can run close (key word CLOSE) to stock TRX numbers? The TRX is the king performance truck, why is that not enough? I’m not one to compare a modded truck to stock, but is that it?

It’s not a good look. The R guys don’t do this to the Raptor owners and we should be able to build a community together. RAM produced the RHO to compete with the Raptor, not replace a TRX. Then some claim people buy an RHO because we “couldn’t afford a TRX” which is pure ignorance. Had they offered one in 2025 I would have bought one. But honestly, I’m glad the RHO was the only option, I love it.

I got mine flashed in early May. Mine won’t show above 400 hp just like this.
