Not necessarily. I saw one guy who said his truck bogged down and wouldn’t shift between gears after putting his truck into sport mode. He thought sport mode was initiated by hitting a paddle once… and the truck didn’t shift because he didn’t paddle shift up at redline. User error.
Many other posts about gears not shifting on WOT, even one guy had a transmission replaced and many trucks sat in the shop for an extended duration. Finally they all figured out the common thread was they’d all lifted their front end without adjusting link length. Again, sadly, user error.
In both cases, Ram got chastised around for their crappy build quality.
If we have someone who was getting 4.6ish prior and clearly knows how to launch their truck, and now getting 5.6, I agree that would be concerning… but let’s collect some more information before hanging Ram out to dry.
Excuse me what? Having my transmission replaced was user error on my part? Multiple folks had their transmission replaced for no reason. We figured out the issue on our own because we were tired of acting as R&D for RAM while our trucks rotted at the dealership for weeks without resolution.
I like my truck but at the same time I completely acknowledge these RHOs are plagued with issues, more than any other platform I have owned.
It’s the massive disconnect between the consumer and customer support that bothers me and many others. At least Ford monitored the forums and would literally reach out to Bronco owners who posted issues. It wasn’t perfect but it was something.
