Flash update, 400hp

I'm just avoiding the dealer for things, instead I'm going to a local non-dealer shop to perform fluid changes, maintenance, etc...I don't trust the dealer or RAM at this point. My truck is hitting every measurement normally even in TX heat, no issues, no CEL, and I'm north of 2000 miles now.

The bad batch of CATS is valid, and that is what I'm thinking is limiting performance output, not a flash.
I’m with you…avoiding the dealer, if at all possible. My last dealer service created hassle & disappointment. Simple oil change & tire rotation.

Oil filter super wrench tightened…gonna need an air chisel to get it off in 5K miles. Lost one of my air valve caps…and didn’t torque down my keyed lugs.

Now, I’m questioning if they installed the correct oil. MPG went up quite a bit for no apparent reason. Could that be 0-W20 oil, instead of 0-W40?

Just put one that’s been updated on a dyno
How hard is it to find a dyno that will test the trucks? I don't have the RHO I backed out at the last minute on the Order and got, the Tungsten with HO supposed to 540HP. It runs like it does, but 400 hp is not too shabby either.

I have the Tungsten 540 HO and my MPG went up on the 2rd oil change...I changed oil early on the first at 800 miles and early on 2nd one at 4500 miles early again, my MPG went up about 2 to 3 miles per gallon to 19.6 Ave. mostly all hiway miles but not all miles.

Apologies if this has been said already, but keep in mind that if your looking at the Propulsion graph/gauge on your main infotainment screen, the default setting is power actually being measured in KW (kilowatts) and NM (newton meters), which means 540hp equals around 400kw.

I hear ya.

I’ve never seen 20mpg running over 70MPH on the highway. Best was 15-16 mpg. Now, I regularly see 20mpg.

Maybe the fuel economy mapping got switched to the SO motor, like the HP mapping? Just guessing, but seems plausible.

The gauges screen specifically says HP and is the same as the propulsion screen. they all should be displaying how you have them set.

Mine got serviced for steering update and me putting a afe air filter in. Didn’t change.

Just an fyi. Others may have experienced this. I came to a stop the other day at a merge. Had left foot n the brake and the other on the gas to get a jump. The truck went flat. Did nothing for 5-6 seconds with my foot now only on the gas. Afterwhich it took off. Almost like a stall. I thought wtf?
Havent tried it again but it shouldnt go flat.
That would seriously impair a 60’. This reaction could be dangerous.

Has anyone been to their dealer to get the HP map looked at?

Check the hp on gauge cluster compared to the one on UConnect. My UConnect shows max 400hp yet the info on gauge cluster does show full 540hp must be a glitch on UConnect system. Just had my truck for under a month and this had me concerned and was about to visit local dealer.

Check that your on HP and Torque and not KW and NM. This is in vehicle settings under measurements.
I haven't been able to find this but I'll look again. I thought I checked under measurements but could be mistaken. I'll look at in once I get it back from the dealer

I had something similar happen when using launch control…a software update had increased my default launch RPM to 4000, which was above the maximum launch RPM threshold. I was not aware of this change. Foot on brake & gas. Released brake & truck went flat, as you stated, using your words. It was like the engine went into “limp mode” to preserve the drivetrain.

Turned off the truck & turned it back on (probably too quickly) & problem persisted. Limped home expecting to have to tow the truck the next morning. Other than an initially rough idle, everything went back to normal the next morning when I started the truck.

Going thru the Race Options, I noticed the Launch Control was set to 4000 RPM. Initially, I figured the techs had been launching my truck. So, I reset to 2900 RPM & Launch Control worked fine. Next day, the LC was back to 4000 RPM, all on its own! So, I’m glad I didn’t call the dealer & complain about the techs abusing my truck…ha!

Since passing 5000 miles, I’ve noticed Launch Control can now be set as high as 4500 RPM. Not sure if that’s from a dealer software update, or that’s just how the truck is programmed.

3300 seems to be the sweet spot from all the youtube reviews I've seen online. Wonder what most owners think.
