Just got a call from the dealer. They say there was a TSB for misfires. They performed an update/flash then test drove for 60 miles without issue. Heading over there in a bit.

Car now has 300hp though. I kid I kid!
Mine does EXACTLY the same! Always defaults to 4000 rpm regardless of what I set it to and then the last few times I've tried to launch, as soon as I let my foot off the brake, it falls flat. Never went into limp mode but the RPMs just dropped immediately to idle when trying to lunch using launch control. When I Don't use LC, though....I can launch fine but other than the first couple times I tried when I bought the truck I've never been able to do better than around a 5.6 sec 0-60. Informed the dealer yesterday when I dropped it off the battery/electrical issues among other thingsI had something similar happen when using launch control…a software update had increased my default launch RPM to 4000, which was above the maximum launch RPM threshold. I was not aware of this change. Foot on brake & gas. Released brake & truck went flat, as you stated, using your words. It was like the engine went into “limp mode” to preserve the drivetrain.
Turned off the truck & turned it back on (probably too quickly) & problem persisted. Limped home expecting to have to tow the truck the next morning. Other than an initially rough idle, everything went back to normal the next morning when I started the truck.
Going thru the Race Options, I noticed the Launch Control was set to 4000 RPM. Initially, I figured the techs had been launching my truck. So, I reset to 2900 RPM & Launch Control worked fine. Next day, the LC was back to 4000 RPM, all on its own! So, I’m glad I didn’t call the dealer & complain about the techs abusing my truck…ha!
Since passing 5000 miles, I’ve noticed Launch Control can now be set as high as 4500 RPM. Not sure if that’s from a dealer software update, or that’s just how the truck is programmed.
HAHA, I was actually thinking that… “yeah, we fixed your truck but you’ll get passed by Honda civics now, enjoy!”
Great! Good luck and keep us updated.Going tomorrow
Yea please let us know that thing still has 540hp - my OCD needs clarification lol
Can’t confirm the 400 hp, but the 98 mph limiter is absolutely true. The lucky coupleSo just to be clear if you recently had your truck flashed they may have flashed it with the wrong software and its now limited to 98mph and only 400hp? And RAM hasn't fixed this for the owners getting them their full 540hp and reg top speed of 118mph back?
Can anyone confirm if this is actually true. This sounds crazy lol
Not necessarily. I saw one guy who said his truck bogged down and wouldn’t shift between gears after putting his truck into sport mode. He thought sport mode was initiated by hitting a paddle once… and the truck didn’t shift because he didn’t paddle shift up at redline. User error.
Many other posts about gears not shifting on WOT, even one guy had a transmission replaced and many trucks sat in the shop for an extended duration. Finally they all figured out the common thread was they’d all lifted their front end without adjusting link length. Again, sadly, user error.
In both cases, Ram got chastised around for their crappy build quality.
If we have someone who was getting 4.6ish prior and clearly knows how to launch their truck, and now getting 5.6, I agree that would be concerning… but let’s collect some more information before hanging Ram out to dry.
And good on you for doing so.“user error?!” I would say “trial
And error” with the shift issue. I leveled my truck, damn near immediately figured out it was self inflicted, found a solution, then helped others.![]()
Oh I’m not offended. And you’re right, we did cause it. I never thought it was a transmission issue. I think “user error” threw me off, like I didn’t know how to “use” the truck lol.And good on you for doing so.
My point was, that wasn’t a Ram issue… like it or not, that was caused by modifying the truck. Sorry that offended you guys, but the transmission was never the problem.
This coming from a guy who has lifted every truck he’s owned… I haven’t touched the RHO, and won’t, because then I’d run into my garage door and parking garage.![]()
WHAT?! lolFWIW. I contacted my local dealership and they said the issue we are experiencing is probably the same as the TRX, we are locked out of full power until about 5K miles.
If that is the case, 5 K seems like it is going to be a few months away. I’m only at 2K.

Currently 86 degrees, 69% humidity, DFW TX
HP: will not touch or go beyond 450 mark
TQ: will not touch or go beyond 550 mark
Never taken to a dealer or been flashed outside of Mark Dodge upon pickup in first week of May.
Never a CEL
No issues whatsoever
2037 miles
Is this normal?
What are others getting?
Not slow whatsoeverMaybe the charts are just quite inaccurate? Seems kind of gimmicky anyway. Does the truck feel slow to you? Only way to tell 100% is actually get it on a dyno.
Not slow whatsoever
Yea same. I mean it’s a very similar BMW M3 transplant if you think about it.If it doesn't feel slow i'd say the charts are not that accurate. See below for the Hurricane HO stock dyno numbers - for reference a stock TRX made 580 to the wheels.
Engineering has tested the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO on the dyno, revealing strong baseline performance for the truck that replaces the Ram TRX. Featuring the high-output 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine, the RHO boasts 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque at the crank, with the dyno recording 461.2 horsepower and 484.1 lb-ft at the wheels. These figures equate to 85.4 percent of the advertised crank horsepower and an impressive 92.91 percent for torque, demonstrating the Hurricane engine’s efficiency and potential.
That actually shows the 3.0 makes more TQ than advertised because every dyno I have seen the TQ is always higher than the HP yet the advertised figures are 540hp/521tq. Pretty awesome motor that I suspect will eventually have some great aftermarket support. ECU Cracks / downpipes / Tunes / and even bigger turbos. I think it's got potential to be an awesome platform.
