Flash update, 400hp

Yea same. I mean it’s a very similar BMW M3 transplant if you think about it.

Exactly. I think they benchmarked the S58 as an example. Ironically I almost bought a bmw x3m. Its fast as fuck but small and the ride quality is atrocious.

Plus my area gets a lot of storms and snow and id feel much better having a monster truck lol

Agreed on all points

Currently 86 degrees, 69% humidity, DFW TX

HP: will not touch or go beyond 450 mark
TQ: will not touch or go beyond 550 mark

Never taken to a dealer or been flashed outside of Mark Dodge upon pickup in first week of May.

Never a CEL

No issues whatsoever

2037 miles

Is this normal?

What are others getting?
Someone mentioned while the uconnect screen shows 400 ish, the dash will read the 500. Maybe try that? I plan to check later today, just for fun.

So change the dash to view HP and see if the results are different? Weird.

Same- my dash will go up into 580’s for HP reading, but uconnect screen only showing up to about 400. This wasn’t always the case.

My Uconnect shows 400 hp 500tq. Just checked it. I dunno how to show hp/tq on gauge cluster.

You just have to cycle through the options with the arrows on the steering wheel. Eventually it will show up.

It is under the performance summary page, same as the fuel economy just scroll to the right a few screens.

I hear ya.

I’ve never seen 20mpg running over 70MPH on the highway. Best was 15-16 mpg. Now, I regularly see 20mpg.

Maybe the fuel economy mapping got switched to the SO motor, like the HP mapping? Just guessing, but seems plausible.
I have not went on a long trip of over 100 miles on the freeway yet but expect when I do it will get about 21 to 22. I'm happy with that if it does, considering I never cared about the MPG when I bought it or any of the other Rams I have had. But today I hit 104mph on a back 4 lane road and that was it.....the governor kicked in and just sat there. What a crap thin g to do to us buying these high-priced HO output motors to be limited to 104 MPH!! That just sucks!! Not like I run over a 100 mph all the time or even very frequently, but if I want to..... Some dweeb at FCA has no right to limit my speed of what they think it should be.

It is really stupid because even though we all know the RHO is not made for the quarter mile but even for magazine and companies to test it, it would need to at least have the stock top speed they promised of 118mph to get an accurate quarter mile time and trap speed.

RAM needs to fix this for sure.

Keep in mind I bought the Tungsten at the last minute and not the RHO and I agree with your opinion still. Maybe they Limited the Tungsten to 104 MPH and the RHO to 118 MPH? Either way, it's BS because we should not have limit set on HO Trims or any Trims in my opinion. My Hell cat has no Limit as far as 143MPH with me letting off it one time since I have had it, 2021.

Your Hellcat is also NOT a truck. Trucks aren't typically known for being stable at higher speeds like that like cars, which have a much lower center of gravity.

And if you think 104 mph is bad....my 2024 Sierra AT4X with the 6.2L was speed limited to 98 mph. And it STILL spun a rod bearing!

Well you know that's bad at 98mph for sure! I had 4 Rams before this one and never ran the top end out on any of them, so I have no clue if they had a limiter or not, but since it was mentioned on this site I decided to run it up there and see. I will have to take the 300S out the same place and wind it up to see how fast FCA thinks I should be allowed to go in it, which is the same chassis as the Charger, only suspensions are different but not by long shots.

The other point you made is 118 mph listed as trap speed is certainly an issue Ram needs to address.

Thanks to a new Florida law, the chances of many 100+ runs are dwindling. Now if you are pulled doing over 100 mph or 50+ over the posted limit, you get 30 days in jail and $500 fine.

Dropped my truck at dealer today for the 400 HP peak reading in the Performance Pages.

Interesting note: I’ve assumed the latest software update…something about fixing misfires & resolving an undisclosed issue with the CATs…was the cause of the limited HP reading. To be clear, I assumed the engine was still making full power & the 400+/- HP reading in the Performance Pages was the result of the SO engine power map being mistakenly installed as part of the software update.

Today, I discovered a new display in the Propulsion tab. It shows HP and TQ, simultaneously.

As we all know, the HO motor is rated at 521 ft/lb peak torque…SO engine peaks at 469, per Ram. So, I floored the truck, it downshifted & I watched the display. The HP rose to approx 400, but TQ was definitely right around 520! The SO engine doesn’t make that much TQ!

Truck is still at dealer…no word on diagnostic or resolution. But, I’m beginning to wonder if they’ve modified the ignition timing & fueling to preserve the CATs, AND the engine has actually lost HP in the process?!?!

Can anyone who has had the latest software update for misfires confirm their Propulsion tab is showing SO engine peak HP (400+/-) and HO engine peak TQ (520+/-)?

Wow that's crazy if they actually did that and the truck is no longer getting the full 540hp and correct mapping. Id be canceling my order and will buy a lightly used trx for me. Hope they get some definitive answers because I'd prefer an RHO but not an rho lite.
