Options I agree with. That seems like a lot to ask for though. They can't even make most of their presets work.

The half screen map on android auto sucks, not to mention most of the route is usually covered by the buttons/options on top of the map lol. It's cluttered and looks half-assed and unfinished. I used to not mind it until I started using carplay. The full screen map/music is infinitely better. It looks like it's "supposed to".

Why have this huge beautiful screen if it can't be utilized?

Now hear me out to all you Android holdouts...my son who just turned 29...had to have anything but Apple...and became an Android addict....but after many years and working for Verizon corporate...he made the switch about 3 or so years ago and hasnt looked back.

I asked him why the change....and he said it just works...no bugs...apps don't crash...easier to use(once he got adapted to the format) and less concerns with it being hacked. While he misses some of what the Android platform offered...its not enough to go back...

Honestly, I prefer the AA smaller screen for Waze and navigation

I can have the same shortcuts below as my 'home' screen and it gives me more functionality. I am a dual phone guy (work is a always a new Android and I just got a 17 Pro Max for personal use).

When the wife is in the car we use her Apple Carplay and I honestly don't care about the full screen - if anything, it have to look further down towards the bottom to see what the alert is (object, police, etc) that it seems to be more of a distraction to acknowledge it.

Shortcuts (heated wheel, Sport Mode, Baja Mode, Rear Camera, Perf Pages, and passenger heated seat) plus Waze are what I prefer on the same screen together

@RamCares I've never asked you for anything...today is the day!! For the love of all things pizza, PLEASE PLEASE get in touch with the Uconnect department and relay this request! It is 100% a Uconnect thing, Android Auto automatically scales on every other screen tested. Please, give us the option to make it full screen like Carplay.

I've been Android since the first Google G1 phone...haven't looked back. Zero issues.
Android = PC Users
Apple = Console Users.

I can't stand my iPhone. Android is the power-user OS, whereas iOS is kind of like a cute little childproof version of a phone.

I have used Android since the OG days. My wife and kids are all on iPhones. My life would be easier in some ways if I switched, but I'm very invested in the Google ecosystem. I have a lot of apps that I have purchased that I would have to rebuy. I have certain customizations and automation flows that wouldn't work with Apple.

Bottom line, Android works best for me and my use cases. It's a shame that most features show up on iPhone first, but I get it. The US market is largely iOS.

Why can't we all just get along, even with different phone operating systems???

We can't get along with anything that has options... heck even our trucks, Level 1 guys look down on Level 0 guys, argue about colors, exhaust, tunes....its one big happy family here, times that by at least 1000000000 on a global level.

It will never, ever, happen on Uconnect 5. It’s not that they won’t, but that it can’t be done on the UC5 hardware. You’ll have to use one of the magic boxes that fools Android Auto into thinking it’s connecting as apple car play, which will make it full screen.

I would like to hear more about that. Why can't it be done on the uc5 hardware? All the heavy computing happens in the phone and the UC just renders it. If it can render Carplay in full screen why not AA? Sounds to me more of a software limitation than HW

Like I said in post #13, that info comes directly from a Uconnect engineer.
It’ll be 7 model years with Uconnect 5 by the time the 2027’s come out (which also won’t have full screen AA), 13 radio software updates for Ram trucks, 6 software updates that I received directly from Uconnect that Ram never implemented, countless inquiries about this across all CDJR forums since Coolwalk came out in 2022, and yet here we are.
Is that indication enough?
