Update on this situation: ram cannot fit a truck together or make a straight body part to save their lives. Just when I was about to forget about the Fender gap.. ....
I was wiping down my truck today and looking at hood alignment again when I noticed a huge paint chip on the corner of the front fender next to the hood latch where hood mates. Honestly im at a loss of how the heck this happened. Must have happened in the last 24 hours somehow. Truly the icing on the cake.
I truly cannot figure out how it happened. I adjusted the hood weeks ago when I installed the ditch lights and got the gap set identical on both sides at the a-pillar. Have had zero rubbing issues.
I took it in for pcv recall yesterday and notice the Fender gap on right side i mentioned in earlier posts. I got home from appointment and adjusted the fenders. Loosened 3x 10mm and headlight retainers and only ended up moving the drivers side inward that had issues and slightly corrected it. I barely moved passenger side.
Then today I notice this huge paint chip on the passenger side. I cannot for the life of me see how it happened. I cycled the hood many times and didnt even come close. The ditch light brackets clear by a mile. The gap between panels is huge. So confused. There is a huge paint "drip" on the corner of the hood thay im thinking somehow caught it but cant see how? Thered no marked or scraping on the drip or signs its the cause. Maybe when I had the passenger Fender loose and pushed it in but still doesn't make any sense.
Kind of at a loss. I somewhat doubt they will warranty it cuz they will say my ditch light bracket installation caused it or I moved the hood and caused it. Could take them off i guess....so this leaves me to fix it myself which I can do. Just so damn annoying. What's with the fit and finish on these fkn trucks?! From the angle I took the pics it looks like the gap is much tighter than it is.
