WOW.....one launch @ 80% throttle and now you have a 3x4? That's nuts!
“So much torque the chassis twisted coming off the line”Good so it’s not just me, lol. I actually took a look under it this morning and found the problem, I guess the force from the launch snapped this control arm or whatever this is, y’all all take a look. I’m about to send the dealership this picture. I think that’s a control arm. That’s wild, it was just a normal launch. Anyone else had one of these snap?

I think it was just cracked at first, it was making a small tick noise I barely could notice, then it fully broke a day later I could feel it really clanking and stopped driving itOUCH!!! amazing that you were able to drive it that way
No steering issues just a small barely noticeable tick at first, then when it fully broke it was louder and I instantly pulled over@SamC3 were you not having significant steering issues? That’s wild!
Yeah I’m going to do my best to make sure they check everything. I took it in right when I heard a small barely noticeable ticki my noise (im guessing bc it was only cracked at the time) and I took it in right when I started hearing it. The dealer told me next available appointment isn’t until next week and sent me on my way. Then I drove it home and the next day it started getting louder and louder and then started really clanking so I pulled over instantly and had it towed to them. That sucker launched hard as heck but mostly was just tires burning until it hooked up after 10 feet or so…. I know I did it wrong with not applying full throttle from the get go, but it shouldn’t have broke like that. I’m never trying launch control again in that truck…. I purposely put it off thinking it can’t be good for the truck, but I had to try it at least one time, lol…I’m in for more pics if you get a chance, Sam. I can’t quite tell where it failed based on what you shared so far.
Edit: it sure looks like the half shaft simply snapped and the CV ends stayed put within their housings (thankfully).
If there was a chunk of axle flapping around with every tire rotation, I bet it made some hellacious noise… but also, I’d want Ram to rally evaluate what all got damaged with a chunk of metal axle swirling around like a tornado under there. That wheel bearing also took some loading it is definitely not intended to see.
And I’ll send more pictures soon and let yall know exactly what the dealer saysI’m in for more pics if you get a chance, Sam. I can’t quite tell where it failed based on what you shared so far.

Don’t put that result on yourself. The truck should be able to handle launching without this result. What you encountered is a flaw with your particular vehicle, and not something that should be expected. You didn’t do anything wrong.Yeah I’m going to do my best to make sure they check everything. Right! As I mentioned already, I launch mine ALLLLLL the time. No issues. I do get a chirp but never any wheel spin.Don’t put that result on yourself. However, interesting note that you said tires burning as in my experience mine just hooks up and goes right away. I really have to wonder what all is going on with yours to cause such a result.
That’s what most are saying on here, appreciate you taking the time to diagnoseYeah your trucks fault not yours. I launch mine and drive it full throttle everywhere and it loves it.
Yes I’m very interested to find out, it’s at the dealership now with an appointment for tomorrow. I’m going to ask them about exactly why it failed, could be multiple reasons like you said. I’ll let yall know what they sayDon’t put that result on yourself. The truck should be able to handle launching without this result. Thanks, im going to also ask them about the wheel spin also now, I hadn’t mentioned that part to them yet.Right! As I mentioned already, I launch mine ALLLLLL the time. No issues. I do get a chirp but never any wheel spin.
I suppose if the axle was snapped and you were “3 wheel drive” it could have had some extra spinThanks, im going to also ask them about the wheel spin also now, I hadn’t mentioned that part to them yet.
Same here. Unless you were driving a Hellcat powered RHO?Right! As I mentioned already, I launch mine ALLLLLL the time. No issues. I do get a chirp but never any wheel spin.
I sent y’all a DM. I could use some help understanding what’s going on, I had an appointment set for this past Tuesday at 8am, I had it towed to them the day before the appointment. But they said a tech still has not pulled it in yet for diagnosis. I sent them a picture of my snapped axel and I guess that’s what they are going off of, they said they are waiting on a “DID” from Ram for faulty engineered part that could be a possible recall…. Something about they have to wait to hear from yall before they can order any parts or even look at it. For now it’s just sitting in their back lot, drove by saw it there this evening.Little late to the conversation here, @SamC3, but if you're looking for added support in combination with your dealership, please let us know via private message. We're always available!

Also the dealership I took it to is not the dealership I bought it from, to me it sounds like they are just giving me the run around and blew off my scheduled appointment to make priority room for customers that actually bought from them bc they are too busy…. But I could be wrong, some clarification on this whole “DID” process/timeline would be nice. I’ve asked them about a time line they said “they have no idea, it’s out of their hands, it’s whenever RAM gives them the green light and they have no idea when that will be” Sounds like my truck is gonna be there for a really long time……I sent y’all a DM.
