I have a RockyMounts GuideRail 2-Bike Hitch Rack. It is top quality and accommodates long wheelbase as well as tire up to 3”. They are pricey but go on sale with some regularity. I got mine for a third off. It is a tray-type carrier that secures the wheels/tires and doesn’t touch the frame at all. Highly recommend if you can swing it.

I had a Thule T2 previously and did almost lose an expensive bike on I-25 in Colorado last summer.

I've had that rack over 10yrs with probably 50k miles on it, never replaced a thing. Bought it second hand from a guy that used it twice for 260$. Best value for anything having to do with MTBs.

Yes I'm 2 weeks in on some of the worst pain I've ever felt...thankfully it's getting better.
