NO CLUNK Driveshaft Group Buy

When and how often is this clunk?
The typical clunk is felt mostly during warm months (it's not noticeable during winter). But when you do feel it, it's right upon touching the throttle from a stop. It's like there's slack in the driveline, and as soon as your engine starts pushing forward, it clunks as it takes up the slack.
It's also felt on a coast (sometimes), as the forward push ends and the driveline is dragging down, if that makes sense.

Are there any warranty concerns with the aftermarket drive shaft?

Ram will not warranty the driveshaft if you replace it with aftermarket, obviously. But for any other component on the truck, the only way it voids other warrantied parts is if they can demonstrate that the aftermarket component contributed to the failure. I can't see any viable scenario where another driveline component would be denied warranty coverage because of this driveshaft.

Thank you.

Mines been really noticeable lately, in the winter. Nothing Im going to spend money to "fix" but it's a constant reminder I bought a RAM.

Is this the clunk when you change between gears (7-8) or the one between R/D? I have had some really hard shifts in sport on 7 to 8 or 7 to 6 and some small clunks between R/D.

Mine started or at least i noticed it in Sport mode. My truck is new with under 1k miles on it. I believe i had the same issue on my Ram 1500 Limited. I will change my later like I did on my Redeye. Ram should address this with a drive shaft upgrade especially in these 75-98k trucks.

My clunking (was pretty hard hitting too, shook truck a bit) - was only found in sport transmission setting, between 75-85 in 8th gear, which is roughly 2k rpm... SLIGHT acceleration (not shifted) and the truck feels like its trying to shift but decides not to, big clunk... or it will actually shift down into 7th, and is smooth as butter

Edit: Only reason I figured it out, and could reproduce, was driving from cali to TN, theres a LOT of freeway where you are coasting at 80 lol

Any thoughts on carbon fiber drives half. Would it be overkill?

Hi there, @Faze! We know driveshaft concerns definitely aren't preferred, but if desired we're here if you would like to start a conversation.

Unfortunately in my opinion Ram doesn't CARE. I have had 3 cases open and after months of dragging on 2 where closed with no reason. The 3rd one I have open now has been almost 2 months. I have had to spend money out of pocket so my new house doesn't have oil stain in my garage and driveway coming from a 85k truck. I keep getting empty promises with zero resolution. I am moving to California soon and thankfully that state has way better lemon laws. Instead of taking care of the consumer directly. RAM will now have to pay me and lawyer fees.

The aluminum one is 3x overkill for your truck. The carbon fiber one is 4x overkill. So they're all overkill 🤷‍♂️
This!

Send us a private message with your case number! Allow us the opportunity to look it over.

I've been noticing the same issue with my '26 RHO. I have a clunk during 7-8 up and down shifting. Is this the same issue everyone is talking about, or something different?

I suspect that’s something different. Shift points may be off.

Researching shows the oem driveshaft clunks due to mixed metals (steel interface with aluminum). Grease will buy time but cannot overcome a bad design.
Nick - I see the instructions call for reusing your existing flange. Does East Coast offer a complete unit ready to bolt on?

It's not that hard to swap the u-joint flanges. Maybe an hour tops.

They just announced a new shaft that is complete but it uses a different flange & ujoint which isn't compatible with stock stuff (Which is why it took so long for him to come out with one like this). I believe that style is 2 months out currently.

I am feeling my clunk when I reverse the truck and put it into drive. Then sometimes starting from a stop. Seems to go away after driving for a bit. Thinking maybe need to get under there and grease her up?
