Recall on trailer tow module

I have never towed anything nor do I plan on doing so.

How many plan on NOT having this done due to the fact that your truck is working well and don't want to have the dealer f$%*ing with it and potentially causing electrical gremlins that you never had previously?
I have the same question now because….I’m at the dealership today getting the recall done. They told me 40%-50% that they have done have come back and they put the original OEM part back in, which they apparently can still order. Apparently, there is also an over the air update coming in Q3 that solves it (Maybe October). Maybe the digital key comes with it 😂😂

They asked if I wanted to wait but I decided to roll the dice and have it done. I’ll update after it’s done.

Maybe I’ll order a 27 with all that government tracking shit! Another gremlin coming for ALL VEHICLES! 😂

I had the dealership order my safety recall parts last week...They should notify me when they gat the hardware for installation, estimated to be ~May 23rd 🤞

Update: had recall done, seems fine. However, they tested the batteries while I was there and they needed to be replaced. Huh? I was not having issues. Just replaced in Feb. Now on 3rd set, 9.5K and 15 months. Glad it was preventive. At least the batteries have never stranded me, they’ve caught it every time I was in for something else.

Waiting on parts, hopefully this doesn't extend out too far. I have several trips booked in which I WILL be towing my TT regardless, fortunately I haven't seen the issue when testing my lights hooking up.

Had this recall done along with ecm updates. No issues noticed since service.

My parts took a 1-1/2 months for them to show up at the dealership. And then I’m waiting 3 weeks for my appointment that is scheduled for 6/15. All in all , 2 months from when I received the notice until it’s actually repaired , just an fyi

Yeah, when I scheduled my recall repair they told me my rig needs a shit-ton of updates, hopefully it resolves some issues I’m experiencing. Fingers crossed 🤞

My recall was done a month or two ago and I have issues with the trailer warning lights coming on in the rain. Ill address at my next oil change.

Went in last Friday for the trailer module recall, they had to inspect it first before ordering the part apparently, was put in the list for parts. Service tech told me the dealers can only order one part at a time…
Finally got mine completed last week. I ended up calling my service tech to get an updated ETA for the part as i was originally quoted mid August. The tech literally told me he could have it done next day. WTF, don't say it's gonna take awhile for the part, then not communicate when it comes in...

My dealer called me to schedule this recall.
I asked him how long it would take and he said one day.
I said I have not nor will ever tow with this truck and told him no thanks.
I am not letting them fix something that IMO doesn't need fixing.

Purchasing dealer called me and said they had parts in to do mine and plus address a recall. However, I passed on it because they are 150 miles away. I called the dealer who’s 5 mins away and they ordered the part(s) within a week and got me in/out in 2 hours. Shuttle took me to the gym and picked me up once I was done. Truck was waiting on me. It pays to have a respectable relationship with a good SA.

Exact same here. I will never tow, so unless the faulty module starts causing any weird electrical issues, I’m keeping mine as is.

Thought the same until I got dash warnings. It’s an easy fix and great if you decide to sale your vehicle. Just locate a reputable dealer to do the work.

absolutely. If it starts to cause electrical gremlins or error warnings, I'll certainly get it done. But until then, I'd rather them not monkey around with it!

When I put my truck to dealership, I wanted a rental truck but ended up with a minivan. They told me all the trucks they had as loaners were grounded for recall.. lol
