Recent Software Updates and Experience

I used to get the “ put the vehicle in park and select gear” message all the time when I went from drive to reverse. Since the updates, that seems to have stopped. That’s one win for the updates.

My batteries also didn’t didn’t when I went out of town for a few days, like it did last time.

I got the message of a software update available this morning when I got to work.
Message said 26 minutes. I kicked it off and checked a couple hours later. Only thing different was the CEL I had was off.

ok guys one update from me after the new software updates

few days after I got from dealership I noticed the increase in MPG .. wasn't anything crazy at first but now, after what I think was 3 weeks, my fuel consumption improved racially..

Before that, I wasn't able to get better than 11.7, mpg usually lingering around 11.6, but after two trips to Miami I hit the 13mpg club and today almost 14mpg, which was impossible then

not sure what software update did this, weather it's just the computer calibration, or something else.. I noticed @Mikey Swift mentioned in few posts that driving in sport mode improved his mpg, and it could be actually related to the better gas pedal sensitivity which comes with the updates

anyway.. looks like I be hitting 14 soon, now I believe some of you having 15+ long term average

ELectronics indeed have a burn-in period...especially on this truck, I think they rushed the modules without failure testing.

I hope you are right! I’ve got a few small electrical bugs that I hope iron out without having to take this to the dealer.

1. Trailer Blind Spot alert with no trailer on when turning right, then it shows I have a trailer connected for a minute or two.

2. Auto tailgate sensor seems bugged. Open the tailgate and as soon as it’s down it pops right back up.

3. Driver side power board retracts over and over when driving on remote starts.

Nothing to cry about or run to the dealer about but just hope the list doesn’t grow

All mine went away after a few instances.
If they persist, you might need some modules replaced.

It's updating in the Waffle House parking lot. I'll let you know after I crush my All-star special!

It's just a telematics box update (R5T). I'm not saying that all the stuff above is completely unrelated, but you shouldn't see any magic increases in fuel economy or vehicle performance. This update was primarily to fix the "Uconnect box" error.

First time! Today I got my first notification from my truck offering a software update. I've owned it for 9 months and never got one before. Figuring I might never get one again, I blindly accepted . It's updating in the Waffle House parking lot. I'll let you know after I crush my All-star special!

That's where I updated mine...100% guaranteed to work if updated from Waffle House.

I just realized my truck is the guinea pig for update failures.

My Uconnect is really struggling after the OTA update. My screen froze and blacked out this morning, then thankfully restarted itself. Just jumped in the truck for the afternoon and all of the icons are jacked up.

One freaking day after making fun of all you Android users… I’m going to get hammered for this!

Holding my breath- just started an update.
Right before the update my Google map screen went blank but everything else worked great.
After 3,000 miles I am starting to see more and more minor glitches with this uconnect system.

That's what mine said after it was finished.

Mine said the same thing. No issues other than what happened this morning with my Google map screen which out of nowhere when blank.
Android Auto is still connected, music plays, Google map plays (without seeing the screen).
Trying to figure out it it's the phone or the infotainment.

Knock on wood that everything else is working flawlessly.

I've yet to get my first update. Maybe it will come soon, since our trucks came off the line around the same time. After a week of doing the update, how is everything working?

So far so good. Android auto seemed a tad glitchy the first 2 times after the update. It connected but some of the data didn't display correctly on the screen (eg favorite contacts), but have since.
