I tried to remote start my truck from the app this morning and it was a clusterfullck. Ram and electronics do not mix. Personally, the last thing I want is to have to rely on my phone to work as a key.
I don’t get it. I’m old. I’ve got gray hair. I’m used to having a set of keys in my pocket. First thing I did with my key card was send them through the shredder. To me the phone is just one more pathway for somebody to hijack access to your vehicle.
I didn't go that far as I keep the card in my "wallet" (Ridge) but I always have the key in my pocket too because ANYTHING electronic could fail at any moment. But I haven't had any trouble remote starting from the app. Pretty handy when it's cold/hot outside and you want to start from farther away than the keyfob transmitter will reach.
Mine worked up until this morning (it was 13 degrees here this morning). I logged into the app, tried to start, entered my pin, and the remote start thing just stayed in its loading circle for about 5 minutes. Restarting the app wouldn't help. Eventually gave up, and just went to the window and remote started it.
Mine did the same thing all last week. Wouldn’t start or show location. Just the loading spinning wheel of death. It seems to have fixed itself though.

I mean the rumor is literally that it's going to be a copy of a tuner that's already on the market? The guy who talked to the Mopar & Holley engineers at SEMA said it will be a Cat6 with a Mopar sticker. Some of us care about our warranties so we aren't spending too much time or anticipation, thanks for chiming in though, we were all curious as to what you thought.You guys are spending too much time and anticipation on what will be ultimately inferior to tuners that are already on the market.
RIGHT !?!?!?! Cause the fob is only good if you can see your truck (and only 6 feet away) !!! And if you use the fob when you can't see the truck you have no idea if it started or not !! My truck is in the garage so I can't see the lights and it only starts about 40% of the time !! So I go out to a cold truck more often than not ! Hopefully the phone key tells you if it started or not !!
That's what I loved about my Ford Fusion.
The app tells you. I do find that nice when I’m far away. But hearing the AWE is perfect after starting with the fob at home in the mornings!
